I'm thinking about getting my monroe redone and I was wondering what are some good way to reduce pain? ice and tylenol? also the last time i had it there was this clear liquid that would seep out a little and i was wondering if that is bad? thank you! :)
There's no safe way to reduce pain aside from some numbing agents that you massage into the place half an hour prior to the procedure. Though I would not recommend the use of one of those as they can irritate the fresh piercing. Do not use tylenol, as it is a blood thinner, can increase bleeding (which will already have increased from the scar tissue in the area) and can prevent or slow proper healing. I also would not recommend icing the area prior to the piercing procedure. Icing will numb the nerve endings, however, when the numbing wears off, it will be a big shock to the nerves and you may end up with a lot more pain in the end.
The best advice I can offer you is to go into a professional well-trained piercer. They will know the safest and least painful way to re-pierce the area. Other then that, you just have to grin and bare it. It will not be nearly as painful as you think it will. Plus it will only last a second, you can do it! :)
Finally, the clear liquid should be nothing to worry about. Often times a clear, white or whitish/yellow pus will accompany the healing period. It is known as lymph discharge. Keep up with regular aftercare and you should have nothing to be concerned about.
