i need opinions on what piercings to get y’all. what fits my face?

i’m second guessing if i should get a septum or my first nostril piercing next month. my nose is so big, a septum may look awkward.

piercings i’m sure/leaning ‘yes’ on: at least one nostril, a double helix on my right ear, snake bites, belly button.

piercings i’m unsure of: nipples, eyebrows, septum.

day 1 of my tongue piercing healing has not been bad‼️ i cant eat solids but ive been smoothies, apple sauce, yogurt, pudding, and soup broth without any struggle

the underside of my tongue is bleeding slightly still but not bad at all and it doesn't really hurt unless im trying to chew something, hence only eating liquids & soft foods

what do you do if a piercing is infected?

I imagine I'm being asked this because I've talked so many times about my piercings.

Although I wanna make it clear, not a medical professional or anything like that but I also feel like it really depends on what piercing you have.

If it's super infected, you need to go straight to the ER you could die. Don't WebMD that shit or ask random people on Tumblr go to the hospital.

It might also just be irritated or if it's super new it's just healing.

Now I've had a lot of piercings. I also am aware that a lot of the time I take care of them in ways you're not supposed to.

But I am a firm believer if it's a baby infection a.k.a. you're catching it on the first day depending on where it is, but for like my mouth piercings specifically my lips I sprayed that shit with bactine.

As long as you're not allergic to Bactine, spraying it for like a couple days, you're fine. It can't be your main way of healing the piercings because understand it can dry out your skin. Keep up with cleaning it with saline specifically not saline, made yourself because half the time you're just putting salty water on it.

If it's like an ear piercing, I've used bactine or that antibiotic triple Neosporin shit you can get from Walgreens.

The worst piercing infection I've ever had. I'm knocking on wood as I type this was my navel I mean, like wicked bad and I literally cleaned that shit with hydrogen peroxide for like 3 maybe 4 days and I live to tell the tale.

A lot of the times people become kind of stupid and what some people don't understand is putting hydrogen peroxide, Bactine, Neosporin takes away the good bacteria and also can dry out the skin. For a everything's going fine piercing you don't wanna do that. If something is going slightly wrong and you catch it quick enough that's when you might use one of those.

I do feel like though, sometimes being not super anal about something or taking a risk sometimes pays off. Realistically, if you think it's just slightly infected or even irritated spray it with fucking Bactine the worst that will happen if you're not allergic is your piercing will get irritated.

It shouldn't kill you. But also spraying it once or twice and keeping up with saline it's not gonna do horrible damage.

Also, depending on where it is, don't spray it on a tongue ring!!!!

If you're super worried about it, go to the ER. They'll tell you if it's fine. In the case, it's not fine they will prevent you from dying.

But it's like a baby infection or if you can't tell if it's just irritated put the shit they don't want you to put on it on it.

You could risk far more not taking that risk.

But I also grew up, surrounded by people with piercings and people who the only time they were going to the ER is if they were actually dying. Or sometimes they didn't even go and then they died and then that was traumatic.... don't recommend.

But I've sprayed piercings with Bactine, I've used hydrogen peroxide, Neosporin has been my saving grace on occasion. It didn't kill me. Using saline and stuff with that other shit.

Use your common sense!!!

Also, I'm not a piercer I am intimately familiar with what they tell you not to do.

But I think on occasion, it can't hurt to try that or if you can't go to the doctor tonight, maybe doing one of those options isn't the worst thing you could do.

It's also super important to pay attention to your piercings. Don't play with them or any of that, but do keep an eye on them.

As someone who's had piercings done at (a) Claire's (b) a drugstore (c) professional piercing parlors and (d) home by myself in front of a bathroom mirror with a sterilized sewing needle, my order of recommendation is (c), (d), (a), and (b). Professional piercers know what they're doing. You can maybe get away with a Claire's earlobe piercing if you are 12 and autistically rigid ("they told me to do exactly this for exactly this many days so that's what I am doing") about keeping them clean. Meanwhile I had three piercings done at a drugstore last year and the only one that didn't get infected was the one that partially closed over when the stud fell out before I reopened it myself with a sewing needle I sterilized with alcohol, a lighter, and piercing aftercare solution. Go to a piercing parlor.

Please help a girl out. I’ve got a piercing bump on my new industrial that I can’t shake and is only worsening. The piercing is over a month old now and it’s only the forward helix that’s having issues, closest to my head.

Ik that to get rid of a piercing bump, the first thing is to find the source of the irritation, but I don’t know what it is. I don’t use hair products, I’m keeping my hair pinned/tied back on the side so it can’t bother it either. I clean it regularly enough and have been doing saline soaks. I clean it immediately after showering, too.

Could it be my glasses??? Maybe the bar is too short? I’m at a loss here.

The bump itself has started getting a small, dark spot in the center and it’s turning redder by the day.

I really, really LOVE the way my industrial looks on me, and I haven’t had issues like this with any other piercings, but I don’t want to lose it.

Any advice is GREATLY appreciated.

What piercing should I get?

As you can see, I have 4 lobes on each ear, a helix, and a nostril. My lobes are also being stretched, but the images are low-key old and don’t show that.

My nostril is still healing, so I don’t want to go for anything too hard right now, I dream of an orbital, but I’m not crazy enough to have that healing alongside something else.

I also really like conches, but as shown in one of the photos, I like to wear chains, and if I had a conch, I’d wear a hoop and don’t want to make my chain look bad.

I want to fill up my left side more, but I sleep on it and so it hates to heal things, I’ve had two failed helixes on that ear, so I’m taking suggestions for either ear, or my face, just whatever you think will look good on me!

Also, I apologise, but I don’t have very many photos of myself since getting my nose pierced, so I e got one without, and one kind of shitty one, can try and find more, or take more in request!
