Yesterday i had some philly friends drop by randomly for a few hours, around 5 pm. we started drinking whiskey immediately, went to that firefighter themed bar and had a couple beers waiting for their other richmond friend that never came.

they left and got on megabus back home, i took the bus to carytown and proceeded to (with permission) crash my two buds fancy dinner at Can Can. I’m sitting there giggling like an oogle trying to figure out what fork to use as my friend, who is as trashy as I am ( only minus the fact that he is a food snob cause he went to school for it) scolds me and his sibling for being low lifes and using the little fork (that we just used to eat mussels) to eat the braised ribs that were just placed in front of us. I’m sitting there drinking this nice red wine and thinking, “damn so this is what decent wine tastes like, when it’s not from a box or 3 buck chuck” finally they drop some fucking fried banana split shit in front of us and that shit was a game changer lemme tell you! I think that was the fanciest/most upscale restaurant i’ve ever had the pleasure of eating at and it makes me want to like, start a savings fund so that i can take my broke friends out to eat once a year at a really fancy joint. I can start a kickstarter for that, right? lolz

so after that I went with my friend to watch his indoor soccer game and that was tight, i miss playing soccer. too bad my knees suck and i probably wouldn’t last on an actual team. so i’m all wine tipsy sitting there gettin riled up watching shit go down and dudes get aggro. i kinda love it and miss the adrenaline of playing competitive sports. anyway. so we go hang out at his house and play music and dip and watch this video we had recorded a few weeks prior of both of us drunk acting a fool. it was funny as hell. then we read a childrens book aloud to each other and went to bed. sweet.

Rocksugar Pan Asian Kitchen

A friend of mine took me to a fancy Asian restaurant here in LA. The restaurant is located in Westfield center in Beverly area. The restaurant has a grand entrance, it looked like an entrance of a temple in Thailand I visited when I was a child. As I entered the huge hallway i noticed it was surrounded by lounge sofas with water fall decorations, very much like Im entering a spa. Towards the en of the hallway is the reception desk, we were a bit early for our reservation so we asked if we could just order some cocktails at the bar while waiting however the hostess did not assist us so we awkwardly squeezed ourselves in between two people having dinner at the bar to ordered some drinks at the bartender. The concoction of the cocktails are pretty interesting I tried the lychee martini with lemongrass. The hostess sat us on one of the tables by the wall which is very private and intimate but the space of the dinning area is quite congested, the credenza was literally infront of our table. My friend and I decided to try their tasting menu and we ordered the Green Mango and Papaya Salad Julienne cuts of Tomato, Carrots, Crushed Peanuts and Crispy Shallots Potstickers Chicken Shitake Mushrooms and green onions is perfect with Citrus Soy Sauce, Crispy Chicken Samosas with Cilantro Yogurt and oh my goodness Sweet Hot Shrimp which is basically Tempura shrimp, Eggplant, Tamarind with Chili-Palm sugar sauce Nyonya Sambal Eggplant Sweet Soy and Chilies Indonesian Grilled Cilantro ShrimpCorn, Sweet Potato, Peas, Coconut Milk and Chilies Shaking Beef Beef Filet, Red Onions, Garlic and Watercress and paired it with Rice with Coconut Lemongrass Pandan Leaves and Cashews And for the dessert We ordered this unbelievably amazing Caramelized Banana Custard Cake Milk Chocolate Ice Cream, Malted Cream Anglaise and Praline Nut Brittle and Warm Coconut Doughnuts Passion Fruit Sauce. I would say the caramelize banana custard cake is one of the best desserts I've ever tried! I swear I seriously heard the Angela singing while I was smothering this goodness. The doughnut was surprisingly good, because it's in small pieces plus the passion fruit sauce gives flavor to the doughnut. FYI, not a doughnut fan.
