So aside from Hunters and Pures whose White-Lighters have told them, are there any other humans who know of the realms? How would they find out about them? Can a human try to consciously become an angel or demon?

There are several doors that lead into both realms. Things that both sides opened so they can easily slip in and slip out quickly. Sometimes they forget to close them, since they are pretty much invisible. Like an abandoned building downtown in the human realm, going inside would automatically transport the person to one of the realms, even though on the outside it looks perfectly normal. So a human could wander into one and learn all about it.

Because of this they could try and convince either being to change them into an angel or a demon, so yes. A contractor demon would do it for them especially. They wouldn't care if the person wanted to be an angel or a demon they would change them, and have the power to if the offer they got in return was good enough.

Can Pures be unaffiliated with Aniova, since they are still human? Can humans be officials who negotiate with the rulers of the angel and demon worlds? Are there any ranks for humans? Is the world based on modern times or another structure?

Pures normally don’t even know what they are, or that angels and demons exist. Though that isn’t always true, sometimes their white-lighter guardians don't feel right keeping the secret so they tell them.

Humans who are fully humans can’t hold any rank in either of the realms. Though that isn’t always true either. If you want a human who has a rank somewhere in the realms there would have to be a good reason. Such as one of the royals found them important enough. Otherwise they wouldn’t put a human in danger like giving them rank. Humans can work in the infirmary though, or be one of the officials assistants without have to explain why.

Besides Hunters there isn’t really any ranks for humans unless you go for one of the things stated above.

The world is based on modern times, though demons and angels come from many different times themselves, and may be stuck in their ways, or just prefer it that way.

How does becoming a demon or an angel work? Like being turned into one?

Angels have it simple. To become an angel, someone who is kind and led a good life will always become an angel when they die. Pures will always become angels when they die. Humans can be chosen early on to become angels. White-lighters are the only species who have the power to change humans. With a simple kiss to the lips, white-lighters can give anyone wings. A turned angel, or any angel who becomes one after death can become any of the species except Uni's, and Atiel's. Those two angelic species can only be born naturally.

Angels can also lose their wings. This is called ‘Falling From Grace’. If an angel loses their wings they can do simple white-lighter tasks to gain them back again.

As for demons they have more ways.

When a bad person dies, they do not become a demon, they are sent straight to limbo. But a contractor can summon their souls back from limbo, and though their souls are indebted to the contractor, they can live life as a demon.

Pures can become demons in different ways. If a pure has sex with an incubus by their own free will, without demonic influence, they will become Impures because of their decision. They can also become a demon just like any other human or angel could in the following ways;

Flesh Eater Demons: When a flesh eater’s (which is most of the demonic population) blood gets into a human, angel, or Pures bloodstream that person well become a demon.

Incubi: Incubi can change another into an Incubi by biting and breaking the skin of their victim. Incubi have a close relation to snakes. There is a venom in their teeth that changes Pures, angel’s, and humans into Incubi. It has no effect on other full demons.

Mutts: Similar to Incubi, mutts have sort of an infectious causality to their teeth, but also their nails. Mutts usually kill their pure, human, and angelic prey. But if a demon were to get scratched or bitten, they would slowly become tainted, and turn into a mindless mutt. Mutts are also created whenever a human who doesn’t have what it takes to be a demon, gets turned into one.

Vampires: Vampires are made whenever one drains their victim of their blood. Because of the law to never fully drain a human, it doesn’t happen very often.

Ilahi, Harpies, Imps, and other species can only be born, never created.

What do you call a demon that's like a mix of a lot of things because those would usually be called mutts but there's already a species called mutts.

Halflings or halfbloods. Same with angels. Though if a demon has any imp or harpy blood in them, they are looked down upon. Even if they have something else in them, just a little bit of imp and harpy blood and they will be hated. They'll be called Filth, or Trash. 

There are hardly any 'pureblood' demons. Demons who are completely one species. Anyone who is turned into a demon will be such, but anyone who is born will be a multitude of things. So unless they have imp or harpy blood, there is no pureblood hate among demons.

If a demon has any human or angel blood in they, they will hate. Or if they weren't born a demon. If they were human once. That's when the 'pureblood' comes into play. Being born a demon is what gives you 'pureblood' status, anyone not born a demon is assumed as weak.

The only species that has absolutely no other demonic species within them is Ilahi. Ilahi don't really like other demons. All creatures besides themselves are considered harmful to the earth, and they don't like being around those kind. They usually stick to their own kind.

Vampires are prideful as well, and try their best to stay mostly vampire, though there is a few who think differently and mixes of them do happen.

How do the royalty in the demon realm come into power? Are they born into a royal family? Are they voted in? Do they kill the previous king and take his spot? And the queen, are they just assigned the role because of birthright or some reason? Are they married to the king willingly? Arranged marriage? Do they have to be married to the king? Do they have to be royalty or nobility? Any specific requirements to be queen? Like species, power, etc? What about Aniova?

Royalty in the demon world works like this; When the realm was born it was ruled by a king, it was decided that the first born son would always become the ruler after that. But just because that is what is suppose to happen, doesn't mean it always goes that way. If the king has no heir he may choose his successor. Though that successor, since he isn't of royalty, must complete 6 deadly tasks to prove he is capable of becoming king.

In other cases, if the king is killed by another demon and the king has no heir, then yes the person who killed the king would take over. Because demons are about power, and they will always accept the most powerful as their leader.

The queen is usually picked by the king, either out of love, or because they have something to offer. They don't have to marry them officially, they can claim to be married if they don't want to make the union official. The Queen doesn't have to be royalty or nobility the king can choose anyone he wants. In some cases, the king can arrange for his son, the prince who will become king, to marry someone. Say marrying a Vampire so that their species can be united. 

Species, powers, and anything else isn't a factor though, any species can get a job for any role within the castle. However Imp's and Harpies are treated like scum, so therefore cannot get a job of importance. They can be servants however.

As for Aniova it's similar, but different. The first born daughter is chosen to rule. If their is no heir, the queen can choose who will become queen next. They also have 6 trials they must completely, but they are much less deadly then those of Utanthia. 

If the queen is killed that person will not become the next ruler, they are instead thrown in jail, and a heir will take the spot. If their is not heir, someone from the Elder counsel is chosen. Marriage is chosen in the same way. It can be arranged, or the Queen themselves can choose who will be their king. Species and power has no effect for this either. No species in Aniova is looked down upon.
