Is this everybody, or is it just me?
Does anybody else feel like it's super difficult to form an accidental relationship after graduating?
In some industries (like the one I'm primarily in) there is very little chance to interact with the opposite sex due to department demographics. You spend all your energy at work, and you have no energy to leave the house afterward.
During school, life is a JRPG. You have your missions and your party (of mixed bag of male and female). Lots of meaningful interactions. Then, you graduate, it turns into Skyrim. No party, you just go where the randos have money.
I think that's a downgrade, right? I can't be alone in thinking that? Right?
I don't know. I look at anime slice-of-life relationships and I think "Yes! I want that! That's ALL I want. Give me the 'running into each other in the hall' scenario, and cutely going on field trips!"
But it feels like, once you are past college, you've got two options: wait for cracks to appear in our self-built urban isolation, or use that W rizz on randos you don't even care about, or you gotta be a Tinder addict. Right?
That feels so effing unnatural. All three of those.
Now that I'm 27, I retrospectively see how freaking good I had it to be forced into 50/50% boy/girl population. I can actually imagine those anime-type relationships starting there.
So, options? Dismantle the Internet so that 80% of the population can go outside and see each other again? Start a non-religious Sunday Assembly in every town? Use automation to reduce work hours and use the newly freed time to build lives?
Some people will probably tell me, "You just gotta go and search for a girl."
To that, I will respond by saying "Yes, that way works..." But we would not lose anything by making it more likely to happen on accident too. High school proved that accidental relationships could work, so I think it could continue to work just as well in adulthood.
