since my sister decided we needed some flowers in our “garden” (it’s used as a parking space and bbq spot) things somehow got out of control. she planted about 400 flowers on 4 square meters. anyway now we sort of got hocked and also added some strawberry and tomato plants. because our grandmother (who‘s a gardener) also told us to give our windowsill herbs a better chance in surviving by planting them into bigger pots. i decided to do some gardening too. with summer coming and strawberry baskets being sold on the side of the streets these cute empty baskets pile up here. they do make a very cute herb pot. don’t you think? if you’d like to make these too, here’s what you need: baskets, soil, herbs, water, rope, scissors, stapler and some foil.
here’s what you do: first, cut the foil into the size of the basket and line in the basket with it. use the stapler to fixate the foil on the basket.
now that was actually the difficult part. you take out the herbs and put them in the right basket. two each and fill in the rest of the basket with soil. be sure to use enough and push it into the corners.
nearly done. if you’d like your herbs to fly as well you’ll need 2m of rope for each basket. cut it in half and bind your baskets to the fence or maybe onto your balcony handrail.
oh and don’t forget to water them of course. :) what do you think?
