The Gasworks
In a time of change, gas was distributed here. The whole big city was supplied with these machines and the people looked to a better future. Fortunately, this gasworks was simply closed and left that way. Since then it has stood still and empty. I met a group of people who contribute to the preservation of this building. Every now and then you let in interested people. Like me. The machines still work. Everything is calm and quiet, but it's nice to know that you can start again at any time.
ABANDONED WATER PARK
I used to go here all the time. It wound up being driven out of business when the nearby Six Flags expanded. It looks like someone’s maintaining the grounds from time to time - maybe it’ll reopen. 🏚🎡

Hiding somewhere in Poland this power plant was likely built in 1920 to supply power to the numerous facilities of the company that constructed one of the most incredible structures ever built in the country and in Europe. At the end of the Second World War, this plant was capable of producing 100 megawatts. Over 900 people worked there. In the following years, this impressive symbol of the industrial revolution was modernized and the power plant was transformed from thermal power station to a combined heat and power generating plant. Since early 90s, it’s been left at the mercy of its unsolved future. This incredible coal-powered power station has managed to survive two decades of abandonment and now this industrial heritage is in danger. Operated for almost 80 years, nowadays this coal power plant is threatened to be demolished. With its huge potential of reuse, there are plans to convert it into a museum or at least it can be used for some cultural activities.
Jay and I snuck into an abandoned toxic waste town last weekend. Can’t wait to go back when there’s not 10ft of snow on the ground 😅
