Good morning everyone! Hope this day finds you with new blessings. 

I have an urgent prayer request that I wanted to put out right away. As I’m sure some of you have heard, every major school district in Colorado has been closed due to the threats of a woman who traveled here from Florida and bought a shotgun with ammunition. Police have not released much information on her, but they are obviously taking the situation very seriously, and as a teacher I am extremely grateful for that. 

She is considered extremely dangerous. Please pray that she is found and that nobody is hurt in the process. 

This is extremely terrifying as we come up on the 20 year anniversary of the Columbine massacre.

June is our busiest season, when we can see up to 60 new patients arriving at the centre, every day. With so many patients to take care of, the recent UK heatwave is causing havoc. As temperatures begin to soar to record highs, the temperature of our hospital and pens begins to skyrocket. We have already had to move all patients out of certain buildings, which have seen temperatures of over 40 degrees Celsius over the past few days!

High temperatures are disastrous for injured patients and we are in real danger of fatalities if we do not act quickly. We have received quotes for high-powered air conditioning units, which will keep our patients safe, but we urgently need your help to purchase them. At a cost of over £12,000, this is a major financial blow to a charity that costs £1,500 a day to keep running. These units are not only to cope with this recent spell of warm weather. With hot summers becoming the norm in the UK, we urgently need to ensure our facilities can cope with whatever the future throws at us. These new units will last for many years and will help to save thousands of lives.

We have already begun the process of getting the units fitted as the animals’ need is just too great to delay. If you want to help us to keep our patients safe, please donate.
