2G anon here again I know it's common knowledge now but back in like??? 2022/2023 (GOD IT WAS ACTUALLY 9 YEARS OKAY??? THATS INSANE?!??!) when "Theft and Battery" dropped, I was foaming at the MOUTH over that damn charger speculating it was what gave Mephone the ability to reconnect to his generation abilities CONSIDERING the fact that prior to then in S1 and S2 we didn't see him generate ANYTHING and the episode after "Mazed and Confused" is the first time he generates something on-screen in the series! (Not counting flash backs) (Also keep the 'On-Screen' thing in mind here, he had a ton of assets and show stuff for competitions but we weren't shown him generating them!)
And seeing the charger get ANY kind of importance was actually crazy to me, especially because it ended up being SUPER plot relevant and led to Cobs being able to access Melife in the first place which allowed him to delete the contestants.
HUGE!
But it also makes me wonder how that might impact Mephone in the future, I mean, if he was iffy about being pried into and worked on internally BEFORE that reveal, it must be so much worse for him now. I mean, none of the contestants would've died if he hadn't got sick and things hadn't played out in that specific way. This also makes toilet a little more culpable in the killing of the contestants which DOES make me giggle. Sorry toilet you were just a guy who got wrapped into this WHOLE thing.
But yeah, back to Mephone, Ouch. Ouch. You had something unknowingly put into you that ended up allowing your abuser access to your internal systems and allowing him to wipe out everything you've known and loved. OUCH. God, I love how the show makes a whole point of Mephone having lost the ability to trust people due to Cobs and then drills it in more to him that he can't trust anything-- JOKE OF COURSE, but I do anticipate him having a pretty hard time with trust... Especially in relation to getting work done on him.
On that note, I think I rambled at length about this before in a scrapped rant-- But if Mephone wants to get his glass repaired, he has to repair his ENTIRE front screen because on the iPhone4 the glass and screen (LCD) are one entire piece, as opposed to the iPhone3GS where you can replace the screen but leave the front glass on. So, if Mephone wants his screen to ever be repaired he has to be entirely opened, just like he was when that wire was inserted. Double ouch.
I think it's so interesting to think about how events from on II will impact Mephone in terms of trauma... IDK you can say so much about Meeple and his childhood trauma, but god, the stuff that happened on II was also really bad for him. HE'S SUCH A MESS /affectionate. I love thinking about these stupid off brand iPhones SIGH!!! -2G Anon
