FACES COME OUT OF THE RAIN, WHEN YOU'RE STRANGE..
"Women seem wicked When you're unwanted Streets are uneven When you're down When you're strange..." - The Doors, People Are Strange (1967)
As rose tinted sunset fell over the dullness of London and the street lights flickered into life, an unease settled in the air as the beacon of dread emerged from the clouds giving it's monthly warning. A full moon bright in it's beam illuminated Wizarding London and as the festivities continued, an unease began to fill the air. Whispers of werewolves howls hung in the air, with peeling wanted posters of [SILAS CRUMP] and [MASON TREMBLAY] acting as an all too sinister reminder of what it really meant.
The full moon had taken a new meaning in recent years; death.
As music played in the crowded Carkitt Market court and The Weird Sisters soured, despite the swirl of floral dresses and gleaming faces worry edged even the bravest of souls as auror officials began to guard the area. With the Ministry making it's presence known and the dance reigning the night, with eyes like amber stones lurking in the shadows; is it true what they say that we should be frightful of the night?
Location: The Hopping Pot Date: March 20th Rosaline & Cordelia @cordeliaeavan
The Hopping Pot seemed to be packing more people in by the second, and it had her longing for the comfort of Moribund's. She was certain that if she went there right now that it would be filled with similarly uncomfortable Pure-bloods that were trying to hide from the crowds of undesirables. But Rosaline was here to stay, unfortunately. Glancing around, she was looking for a familiar face, someone that she could talk to as she waited.
Out of the corner of her eyes, she spotted Cordelia, standing similarly alone. She didn't think that she had ever been so grateful to see her older sister as she was in that moment, and she made a beeline for her.
"I know it's not Moribund's quality, but have a drink with me," she demanded, not bothering with hellos and small talk.

The Daily Prophet was ever keen on documenting Ministry sanctioned events, whenever they happened, who attended and what took place. A fact that Ted had formerly sometimes objected to, but now, he realised he could use it to his advantage and keep what he thought more important-- the things he could use to uncover truths, and no one would be any wiser, to keep an eye out in case of anything happening. He was the nettlesome photographer hanging around for work, nothing more. The shutter of the camera clicked with every shot taken, Ted moved around in consideration of the masses but it was a feat more difficult than expected. Finding a place with a good angle and view of the festivities, he addressed the person in front of him. "Do y' mind? It's fer th' Prophet." Work called for as many photographs as he could get, regardless of who they were of.
narcissa black attending the ministry of magic's spring solstice festival in the alleys of wizarding london, march 1986.
inspired by the symbolism of "rebirth" and "peace" found in both the colour white and the spring theme of the ministry's festival, narcissa wears an overlong chiffon blouse, almost in the style of a masculine tuxedo shirt with ruffles down the partly open front and around the cuffs. underneath, she sports a pleated mini skirt, evoking both a preppy and elegant look. to capture the true floral nature of spring, narcissa's matched her outfit with a pair of thigh high boots made from intricate floral crotchet lace, with laces that run up the back much like those of a lady's corset and in her hair, which she wears in a twist braid, a large broderie anglaise hair tie in the shape of a flower. all in white, of course. it's not so much that narcissa is afraid of colour, only that, in every possible way she can, she wishes to project an image of purity and innocence too. especially at an event organised by the ministry of magic itself. the black daughter accessories her look with simple silver jewellery and a matching chiffon necktie for the blouse.
where: The Hopping Pot when: Spring Equinox Festival; 20 March 1986 who: Cordelia & open
Cordelia was beginning to become impatient waiting for her drink. She understood that the bar was busy but honestly, how difficult was it to pour a glass of wine? Of course she didn’t entirely blame the staff, management should have known to schedule extra employees for a special festival hosted by the Ministry. The increased traffic would doubtless bring in enough excess revenue to cover the additional shifts it required. It was the sort of error she never would have let happen at Moribund’s, but Moribund’s would never participate in such a public event. In recent years Cordelia had put aside the vast majority of the elitism she’d been raised to, but it still reared its head on occasion. Large scale social events that were poorly organized were, apparently, one of those occasions.
It was this underlying irritation that drove her to speak up when she overheard someone next to her ordering the wrong drink. “Oh no you don’t want Glenn Orchard, it’s far too expensive for the quality. Ask for the Dunn & Burns, it’s a bit more dear but it’s also stronger, so you’ll end up ordering fewer drinks and they’ll be much more enjoyable.”

While usually one to stray away from formal events, a secret love of floral can not be denied. An old, plain suit pulled from the back of the closet has had some new life breathed into it with embroidered flowers -- much like the spring wildflowers that grow in great quantity around the Burrow as spring truly reached the countryside. Strands of gold and silver are intertwined in the flowers and leaves, catching a refraction of light at the right angle. Underneath the suit coat, a simple baby blue dress shirt and a small red flower pin in place of a tie. His wand is tucked safely away in a pocket inside of his jacket. While velvet shoes might not be the most practical, they add a nice contrast to the otherwise light-colored outfit.
Bellatrix Black attending the 1986 Spring Solstice Festival
Not one to usually wear any other color besides black or green, Bella surprisingly chose a ensemble that somewhat reflected the tones of spring. A golden, champage satin dress was the main attraction with a black leather jacket thrown over her shoulders. Her walnut wand hidden amongst a secret inner pocket in the case should she need it, or should she chose to brew a little chaos for her own amusement. The outfit was completely with a pair of simple black heels, tall enough for her to seem superior but not uncomfortable for the evening. A simple set of silver diamonds are placed in her ears and a matching necklace graced her neck as she applied a simple yet gold tone of makeup to her face. The festival is a more casual and relaxed affair but as the heiress to the House of Black, she is still dressed up enough to make a good appearance.
