" #peturine 💩 why is it so hard to get Pet Urine & Odor out of your carpet by yourself? When you spill something on your carpet, about how long does it take for it to soak in? Does the liquid pool on top while you leisurely go to cupboard for a towel? Of course not, the liquid soaks down below the carpet and onto, or into the padding. If your padding is foam with no moisture barrier, the liquid can also go below the padding to the sub-floor; if you have a moisture barrier, that's good, however, the liquid spreads even further underneath the carpet, turning a one or two inch spot on the surface, into a several inch spot below. When you have a spill, or your pet has an accident, there are a few important steps you can take: 1. Don't panic 😀 2. Using absorbent cloth, tamp/blot up as much moisture as possible; don't rub, just apply pressure using dry areas of your towel or rag until you don't lift any more moisture. 3. Don't apply any over the counter products! As tempting as over-the-counter pet stain products claims may be, they can set the stain in, and actually make it impossible to remove all of the odor! Products that are marketed as "Carpet Cleaning" or "Spot Cleaning" products can actually set in stains, damage carpet fibers, or dye or bleach/Dye your carpet. 4.
