Thinking about how if the Cloudy Day squad ever met Urpi (for whatever reason) they would probably assume she and Mahina are related.
The soft silver curls that still held hints of black, the wings sprouting from her back, the golden jewelry shimmering against her warm skin, the SPEAR in her hands?? Can you really blame them for thinking there’s a connection there!
Mahina's not particularly convinced, for every similarity there’s one or two differences. Sure they both had wings but this woman's are white and most likely not capable of flight. Sure this woman was tall but she was still only around 7 ft tall. Still, Mahina couldn’t deny a kinship with this woman. She’d never met someone even slightly similar to her in these regards and it makes a million questions she didn’t know she had dance on the tip of her tongue.
Then I’d imagine Ramiel (who def knew Urpi back in the day, all old ppl know each other) would show up from who knows where and both shuts down and introduces Urpi to them all which only makes them more curious about this older angel in front of them. What do you mean she’s married to Garp the Fist! What do you mean she’s the mother of the World's Worst Criminal Dragon!! WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE'S STRAWHAT LUFFY's GRANDMOTHER!!!
(Would knowing she has a husband stop Victoria the ILF Hunter? Who is to say but it won’t stop Charlie the ILF Protector!)
Well on the off chance they did meet Urpi, yeah Charles would probably mistake her for being related to Mahina. Heck, even their names both hold some exotic air to them…but there’s an immediate flaw that Mahina is quick to point out.
This woman, while not as white as Charles, is still significantly lighter skin than Mahina. Mahina recognizes her as a Skypian, as her father had books all about Sky Islands, and since she’s a “Lunarian” (whatever the hell that means) than it would be more accurate to call her a “Cousin”
While the other Marines are figuring out the details of Urpi (and who she might be), I’d assume that Urpi would stare at Mahina with a sense of awe and amazement. This woman, this so super very special woman, this woman who would be considered a goddess among Urpi’s people, is simply content with her human friends and from one look at Charles (and a quick glance at Victoria) she’d understand that these people KNOW about her wings but have either accepted them or just don’t care.
It’s almost enough to make a grandma cry, isn’t it? Still though, she worries about Mahi’s role in the Marines but it’s not her place to say anything about it so she’ll remain quiet…and she’s still gonna stare at her with wonder.
Charles seems nice enough for someone ruling the most “ambitious” Marine Base, he’s a very respectable and kind young man. Him having the cloud fruit also brings Urpi back to her days in Skypia as he forms her a cloud chair to sit on.
A little while later, Ramiel would definitely just shuffle in and say something about how “it’s nice to see ya again, dovely” (a nickname that he made for Urpi when Garp first introduced him to her). Urpi scoffs fondly at the nickname before the two of them catch up with some tea.
After the reveal of who she is (and the subsequent shift in weather thanks to Charles’s freak out), Mahina is even more intrigued by this woman. Such a frail and delicate woman who acts so boldly, it pleases her that at least she has the decency to have manners in that family (she also tried to interrogate her on the whereabouts of her grandson but that went nowhere cause she doesn’t currently know).
Even after all of this, Victoria is still gonna shoot her shot and try to say something crass. The only thing worse than Victoria hitting on a single, middle aged man to Charles is Victoria hitting on a married, elderly woman who’s married to GARP THE FIST!!
So he did what he did best and sent down a “stray” lightning bolt at Victoria but this time it didn’t hit Vic, no Urpi had pulled her out of the way and dipped Victoria as she held her in her arms. Urpi said something about how pretty young girls should be more careful before helping her back up…that’s how Victoria figured out that Urpi would definitely be too much for her.
