An Outsiders Guide to Non-verbal Uruk Communication
So many do not understand that there is a whole Non-verbal language practiced daily in uruk communities. It is often misinterpreted as vulgar animal like behavior or something primitively mindless. But this simply is not true. Allow me to explain the Moriondor variant.
-Pûring-
This is as you would imagine a rather soft trait. It is often associated with that of submissive men and women.
In the context of Uruk submission to a partner this communicates...
Ones safety being trusted with the more dominant partner in the relationship.
A call for the dominant partners comfort.
Mating call to a dominant partner (I'm sure you can figure out what else evokes pûring in this respect)😳😶
Indication of a submissive's gratitude towards the dominant figure of the house hold.
Or in rarer cases the submissive's love for another submissive lover.
Great happiness in a submissive uruk regardless of situation
Submissive pûring mannerisms include:
Licking the dominant
Gently nibbling the dominant
Exposing ones neck to the dominant
Nuzzling one's face against the dominant
Soft snorting, mild growling, submissive yowl and repeated whimper
Subcategory pûring
-Parental Pûring
Both dominant and submissive parents will pûr to soothe the baby/childs anguish.
Both parents pûr to indicate happiness and pride towards their young ones deeds
Some parents are soothed by parental responsibilities and see it as a break from harsher tasks of the day and will pur to show their relaxed state
Some physical affections that might be evoked by parental pûring include:
Nose to nose rubbing
Nose to forehead rubbing
Grooming the child
Head pats
Piggy backing the youngest child around
-Relaxed Pûring
This is self explanatory: Uruk will express a need for relaxation via pûring
Uruk often pûr while relaxed
Sensory therapies can evoke puring.
The need to recharge during certain parts of an uruk day are essential. Between midnight and 3am, Uruk will take time to pûr allowing their body to relax and feel rested. During this time uruk like to burrow under heavy weighted soft objects. Weighted blankets are common in uruk households. Binding can be therapeutic as well. These techniques are often combined. An over worked uruk will require weight or binding for pûring to be evoked. For some dominant types it is essential to do this to evoke puring recovery, as it can be difficult for those folk.
I was honestly confused and rather surprised that most mortals find pûrring relaxing. I genuinely thought this was purely an uruk thing. It seems humans and uruk have this in common. Perhaps others do as well?
