rewatching sincaraz uso 2022 qf is always such a trip bc i’ve seen the full match at least 3 times and every time it still manages to surprise me with how good it is. it’s so obvious that neither player is what they will eventually become—on the very first point of the match jannik swings for the ball with his backhand and just completely Misses. their second serves are both abysmal (by the standard of us open quarterfinalists). but all of that makes the match better because you have no idea if they’re about to shank the ball or make the most wild, unpredictable play you’ve ever seen. and it is sooo delicious to look for the seeds of whom they will someday be

rewatching the 2022 us open quarterfinal when you've had a bad day is the equivalent of listening to sad songs when you're sad. it's doesn't really help but at the same time it kinda does. plus sometimes they show a very fine juan carlos ferrero.
