When I was 9 years old I was talking with my classmates at a bus stop saying we didn’t like the guy running for president and we hope he didn’t win.
When I was 19 I was comforting a woman crying at a bus stop about the election results, scared for the lives and safety of her and her friends because him winning would let violence against them be worse. That policy and laws would be made and changed to hurt them.
I am at that bus stop today wondering if she and if the kids I grew up with are okay, because most of America isn’t.
