Hillary Clinton: I’m done with crazy Egyptian conspiracy theories
Former U.S. Secretary of State Hilary Clinton recently released a memoir where she discusses her reasoning behind her “realist” policies when it came to dealing with Egypt.
In the memoir entitled “Hard Choices," Clinton discusses the Arab Spring in January 2011, an uprising that eventually toppled autocrat Hosni Mubarak.
“America will always do what it takes to keep our people safe and advance our core interests… sometimes that means working with partners with whom we have deep disagreements,” Clinton says in her memoir.
When former president Mohammed Morsi was elected, she continued to cooperate with the country despite the Muslim Brotherhood leader’s increasingly autocratic behavior.
But as some may speculate whether the U.S. political icon will drop her hat into the presidential election ring for 2016, one thing is for sure: Clinton will steer clear of Egypt, saying that she is tired of the conspiracy-theory driven culture that has manifested in Egypt.
