Adora can’t help but wiggle, her body unable to remain still. She is not used to anyone else touching her body but her. Physical intimacy was all but nonexistent at the Horde. But here in Brightmoon, it is one of the thousands of ways people show their love towards each other. Honestly, the blonde had no idea how much she craved this type of love. She loves cuddling up next to Glimmer during the night, soaking in as much touch as she can.

Still, some things still are taking time to get used to.

“Stop moving and let me braid your hair,” Glimmer says.

“Sorry,” Adora mutters, “I...I just never had anyone do this before. It feels weird to have you do this.”

“D-Do you want me to stop then?” Adora feels the princess’ hand cease movement. “We don’t have to do this if it makes you uncomfortable.”

“No! No!” the blonde shakes her head. “Please keep going! I like it. Honest! I just gotta get used to it.”

“Well, tell me if you want to stop, alright?”

“Okay.”

Glimmer continues. Adora squirming does not stop but Glimmer gets used to the movement. Soon, with a final twisting of the princess’ hands, she finishes. “There! Take a look!”

She wants Adora a mirror. The blonde looks into the glass. After so many years of a ponytail, she is not used to the sight of anything different. Yet, it is a good type of different.

“Do you like it?” Glimmer asks.

“Yes, thank you. You did amazing! It looks great!”

Glimmer blushes. “Well, it looks good on you.”

Now it’s Adora’s turn to blush.

np!! and yeah no it’s so insidious. they water stuff down to make it more palatable and then it gets slowly spread throughout queer spaces without us even realizing it. oh and speaking of queer, terfs are also the ones that pushed the idea of it being morally wrong to ID as queer, bc they don’t like the idea of umbrella terms that don’t allow them to separate the “pure” from the “impure.” it’s too vague for them; they prefer hard-lined boxes/identities to force people into. that’s not to say that’s everyone’s reason for disliking the term nowadays, obviously there are plenty of people who take issue with the word for various personal reasons, but when they try to impose that preference on others as if the word is irredeemable/unreclaimable, that’s often bc, again, the source material has been watered down over the years in order to spread terf propaganda without it seeming like terf propaganda. when really, at the core of it all... is terfs. this twitter thread is very interesting in its discussion of the topic, actually!

but anyway to answer your question, i’m not sure there’s an agreed upon term to replace comphet, but if you read this post you will see that one of the suggested terms is “coercive heteronormativity.” this whole blog is actually a gem; i highly recommend taking a peak through, especially if you’re bi/pan/etc (it’s technically a bi positivity/advice blog but they support all other mspec (multi-spectrum, as in not gay/not straight) identities, and their advice most often is useful no matter what label you use, if any). i haven’t identified as bi for a long time but i still follow them because i think it’s important to keep up to date and learn how to be an ally to mspecs.

hope this helps! i don’t really talk too much about this type of thing because i don’t enjoy discourse and prefer to keep my feet out of the fire, but it is something i feel very passionately about. sorry for the long rambly answer!

one of my favorite hcs is when adora gets really bad nightmares about the horde or the war in general and everything that went down with it glimmer drags a mattress out in the balcony, gets some light blankets and the most comfortable pillows she finds and one of those pillows that are a bit more rigid bc they're supposed to help with posture (turns out is the only kind of pillow adora tolerates). glimmer makes adora put her pillow against the wall, lay on her side and puts some pillows behind her back so she doesn't feel vulnerable and then glimmer moves around in front of adora and lays down curling onto her and she starts singing an old lullaby while stroking adora's back all the way to her nape, the other hand on adora's hip, keeping her movements repetitive so adora can slowly relax against glimmer's chest and fall asleep listening to the combo of her wife heartbeat and her singing voice :,)
