I'm all for swagger when it's deserved, but I'm annoyed at Pinoe. She strikes a pose after scoring her PK, and we get headlines like "Rapinoe penalty kick sends USA to semifinals." If there is one player on that pitch who deserves a headline, it's Alyssa Motherfucking Naeher. That game ends at 90 minutes if not for Naeher's PK save during regular time. That shootout continues after Rapinoe's kick if Alyssa hadn't already saved two (!!) of NED's PK attempts.

Megan, I know you're happy to win (as you should be), but don't you think your priority in that moment of victory should be to acknowledge the person who did the lion's share of work to achieve it? Like, you've had aggrandizing moments and you'll have more to come, let someone else have theirs, shit.

Disappointed in the sporting press producing a clickbaity headline because Rapinoe's a better-known name. Alyssa deserves to have people learn her name after that performance.
