Bluetape Pavilions
Every year USC School of Architecture hosts Bluetape, an architectural event which showcases students work at all levels and is a celebration of all the hard work done throughout the semester. During my 1st year at USC I was able to enjoy the work of my peers, I remember seeing all the upper classmen’s work which inspired me to reach their levels. This year I had a difficult time enjoying my peers work as my second year required a more important role at the Bluetape event.
Compared to my first year, this semester was all about materials; therefore constructing the pavilions was a great way to learn. The pavilions were designed at the beginning of the studio and were revisited at the end, in which we had less than two weeks to construct the pavilions. The results were pretty impressive for second year undergrad students (especially considering the time given). Prior to building these pavilions, many of us had little to no experience in building, spending the past couple of years working with tiny small scale models. Now we all have some experience under our belts and we have something to be proud of.
