UPS Incompetence - DO NOT USE UPS

So either UPS has no idea what is going on with my package (brand new, very expensive computer) or they are not being honest with me--neither of which is acceptable. This is a long thread, so strap in.

I had an extremely valuable package scheduled to be delivered on 2/25. I was sure to be home (not in my work office) to sign for the package that date. It ended up being delayed due to severe weather--totally reasonable because the roads were quite bad. No problems here.

The next morning, I received an email saying my package was on its way to me. I had made an account the previous day to receive more detailed tracking info, and it said the shipment was on its way to me around 9am and should arrive between 12pm - 3pm. Great!

Around noon, the map tracking function popped up on the website tracker. Cool! Now I can keep track of where exactly my package is at. :D ...except the map is either completely wrong or updates extremely infrequently--the truck icon would remain stagnant for an hour+ at times.

At 3:30pm I checked back and noticed the new arrival window was 2pm - 6pm. That's fine, delays happen. No worries. The odd thing was that throughout the day I saw no fewer than 3 UPS trucks drive by my apartment, which I thought was weird. The tracker also did this quite often.

At 6:15pm, the delivery window reverted to the "no account" blanket text of "by 7pm". This is when I started worrying a bit, especially since the map track feature had also disappeared completely.

At 7:15 I called UPS to talk to someone and figure out what was going on. The gentleman I spoke with assured me the package was indeed on its way and should arrive no later than 8pm, which, by the time I was able to get him on the phone meant 9 minutes from that moment.

At 9pm I finally resigned from hoping it would arrive. Someone from UPS responded to some of my tweets of frustration offering to look into the matter for me. This is when things got much worse, because it highlights that they have no idea what's going on.

So the first respondent, Joseph, tried to pass it off as the snow emergency that happened on 2/25. I responded that the emergency delay was from the previous day, and that I was receiving notifications throughout 2/26 and even physically saw trucks by my place...

A second respondent chimed in saying the package was NEVER INTENDED FOR DELIVERY on 2/26. Even though I was receiving notifications ALL DAY saying it was on its way, and I was rooted in place ALL DAY because I needed to sign for it. Literally 9 hours of waiting for nothing.

The second respondent then apologized and offered exactly 0 else in reparations, which I stated was an unacceptable solution to the problem. He eventually offered a shipping refund, but I didn't pay for shipping. Something else needs to be done about this.

As of 11am the next day, 2/27, I have STILL NOT RECEIVED ANY OFFICIAL COMMUNICATIONS WITH UPDATES ON THE PACKAGE. The most recent email about it is still the one saying it's out for delivery on 2/26, expected to arrive by 7pm. Perhaps even scummier, the only change to the tracker is that they EDITED THE NOTICE I RECEIVED on 2/26 that originally said "package on its way" to "processing at UPS Facility"

To recap:

-Package expected 2/25, delayed by weather

-New estimate 2/26, 12pm - 3pm

-Then it was 2pm - 6pm

-Then it was by 7pm

-Then a phone rep said by 8pm

-Then I was told new emergency delay

-Then I was told it was never intended to deliver 2/26, given an apology and expected to drop it.

Not only did I not receive my package, but I spent most of the day stuck at my place due to the signature requirement--I even tried to e-sign and it wouldn't let me. Furthermore, after a while, I ended up spending MORE time trying to figure out what was even happening.

Even if I had paid for shipping, a shipping cost refund is not enough to make up for the 9 hours of waiting + hours of reaching out and trying to ensure my package is safe/on the way. Judging by all the responses I received, I am not confident UPS even knows where my package is right now, which is extremely concerning.
