California Almond Production Forecasted at Three Billion Pounds

The latest almond production projection from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) forecasts three billion meat pounds for California producers.  The California Almond Objective Measurement Report estimates that the 2020 crop will be up 18 percent over last year. The forecast is based on 1.26 million bearing acres in the state.

California Table Olives Look to Bounce Back in 2019

The 2019 forecast for California olives is a welcomed sight after last year’s disastrous season. USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) issued the official 2019 California Table Olive Forecast that’s predicting 81,000 tons of harvested olives this year. That number is a relief to the industry after weather significantly reduced production last year that totaled just 17,400 tons.
