How To Place Your Smartphone While Driving
When you are using a high – tech Smartphone, you would want to use navigation apps while driving. From long drives to short cuts, google maps, mapmyindia, etc such apps help you save time and reach your destination sooner. This is highly important for those who are new to the city as well. You obviously cannot place it in your hands or your lap.. it is not only illegal but also unsafe. Some also like to play music via their Smartphones in the car. It would not really be a smart idea to change the music while looking down at your phone and driving at the same time.
So, how can you place your Smartphone safely while driving.
Option 1 – Windshield Mount
This is probably the most widespread and commonly used Smartphone – mounting option. Using a simple suction device, you can place your phone securely near your car’s windshield. This helps you in not having to look too far to double check the navigation system. The mounts are inexpensive and can be easily removed and installed. The only drawback is that it blocks a bit of the forward visibility.
Option 2 – Dashboard Mount
With the addition of an adhesive puck, most windshield mounts can be converted into dashboard mounts. There are also, permanent-install options that place the mounted phone lower on the dashboard, but these options often require some disassembly of the dashboard and tools to install. Some drivers avoid this as it alters the look of the dashboard. It has a greater advantage over the windshield mount.
Option 3 – Use Voice Controls
This could probably be slightly annoying to give commands to a device but it is quiet effective. You no longer need to take your eyes off the road and still fulfil the purpose. Several apps offer voice controls as the navigation and audio systems promptly carry our actions at voice commands. This is safer than mounting the phone but can be annoying as not all apps will understand ones accent with ease. Not to forget, you may not understand the devices accent quickly too.
These are the best ways in which you can place your Smartphone and enjoy your drive with ease.
