How do writers not know spell check exists?! I'm reading this series of epic novel-length Star Trek fics & it's really, really good but every fic is positively riddled with spelling errors, mainly letters missing from words, & it's so distracting! The fic is a couple years old & it's obvious the care & thought the writer put into it. I feel bad even complaining about it because I know fic authors do it for love & get no financial recompense & little recognition but come on! Run your chapters through a spellchecker, ask a friend to beta! The constant errors make what I would consider a five star fic lose a bit of luster.
