Okay so back in like 2nd grade, during math class kids would ask “Why do we need to know how to do this if calculators exist?” and my teacher would always say “You’re not going to always have a calculator on you at all times.” Nowadays, we basically do have a calculator on us at all times, so I thought, joke’s on her. But today, I was at the store and my phone died and there was a clearance section. It said “70% off price already shown” and so if I wanted to know the price, I had to do 0.3 times the number in my head. So, I guess she was right after all, and the joke’s on me.
Also later but unrelated I say like the gayest pink car ever (/pos) and they had a pink white purple indigo flag and I couldn’t immediately google it and I was like “oh so this is what it was like in the 90’s” (it was the genderfluid flag btw)
And then later in the car I had to sit there with no phone like back in the days when I was a kid. I looked outside the window at the posters and ads hung up in front of the gas station and it was ok and I kept thinking about stuff and I don’t know if I could have lasted if was for a really long time.
