I'm gonna alternate these between Shou Suzuki and Teru, chaotic children whom I love so dearly.

■ - Bedroom/house/living quarters headcanon - Shou used to live all alone, in a very large house, with his friends/lackeys(unofficially). It had a pool and a trampoline and a king sized bed for him. He didn't like it much though, as it was a cold, huge house and his dad never came around, and much preferred his mother's apartment when he visited. In an attempt to make the place more lively, he drew and painted all over the fancy walls. The drawings are still there

♥ family headcanon - Teru is the only child of parents who have a substantial amount of money and no idea how to raise a kid, even more such a special one. They were often away on very long on business trips, and since the kid would scare the shit out of any babysitter and seemed to be able to take care of himself just fine, they let him be. The relationship quickly became fraught as they became a bit like strangers, and the kid's aggressive independency and demands along with him being clearly very capable of fulfilling threats is what ended up landing him into his own apartment by age 14 year. There is a re-approximation in progress, and he misses them, but not too much. It's alright.

♦ - quirks/hobbies headcanon - ARTIST SHOU SUZUKI FOREVER. A powerful ball of creative energy. He has built a complex system of colorful tubes for his hamsters to play in

▼ - childhood headcanon - Well, Teru is still a kid. But oh, younger Teru... was already a force to be reckoned with. Psychic powers manifested pretty early, and he was scared at first, but quickly realized the potential this held. He had a couple of little friends who'd go around with him everywhere at the start of elementary school, but they quickly realized the danger and went away. Which tiny Teru obviously took as a betray and a sign of his superiority/main character-ness.

Yossarian is a tough one... don’t get me wrong, I love the fucker. But Catch-22 has such a specific setting and mood to it, which is hilarious but also very messed up and I’m so distant from all of it that I’m not sure I can get it right, which is why I didn’t even attempt the heacanons ask you sent me before. sorry for that one, btw

I know this sounds like bullshit, or maybe not even a real compliment, but you are one of the most fascinating people I've ever met. You're very loyal, and patient, and so ridiculously reliable(much more than I deserve), but at the same time you also have pulled some of the, funniest most unpredictable shit I can remember. I think you're a lot more fun(and funny) than anyone gives you credit for(including me, because I'm really bad at showing this kind of thing, and I'm so often absent). You're a fantastic writer. What I'm getting at is, you deserve to be so appreciated, Amanda. And... well. I might as well address it, since we've been friends for so long, and I'm always disappearing. I know I don't really feel up for conversation a lot of the time, or only want to talk about a few specific things and my current obsessions, and this can last for months and even years, but even when we don't talk, you make me feel a lot less alone in the world. I feel inadequate so often, or too awkward, or a little too weird, and it's just so nice, to know that you exist, and will talk again at some point. You are just... so incredibly patient, on top of everything else. You've seen so much of me, and so little. I always feel like we shared a certain wavelength, that we kinda 'got' each other in a way that is not very common. Reading your reply to my strawberry ask was really reassuring, to know that you feel it too, more or less. I miss our long conversations. But I get the impression we will have more, one of these days, give it time Love you(too)

28. favorite irl monkees story?

definitely the fact that micky and mike are the two idiots who not only made up and spread the tidbit that they outsold the beatles and the stones in ‘67, but also that charles manson (?????) auditioned for the group. the funniest thing about the entire situation is that both myths are still prevalent today!

35. would you get a monkees-related tattoo? if so, what of and where?

i am such a baby and hate needles, but i would absolutely get a monkees tattoo because they have meant so much to me ever since i was younger! i could see myself either getting an ’as we go along’ tattoo or maybe even the musical notes of the song! i would get it on my forearm, because i’ve heard that’s where it hurts the least and, like i said, i’m baby.

40. do you think they act the same now as they did in the 60s?

yes and no. this is a very loaded question because, well, first and foremost, they’re not a complete unit anymore and they never will be again. micky and mike are always going to have to answer questions about ‘oh, were you a real band?,’ 'do you think things would have been different if you had been created in 2020 as oppposed to 1966,’ and 'what were davy + peter like?’ so no, in that regard. however, they’re still as lively and as witty as ever. they can dish it out as good as anyone else, and that’s something that has stayed intact for the 50+ years!
