roots + favorite for val ?
ROOTS: Is your OC's look inspired by any specific style of clothing or fashion trend? What are the roots and/or inspiration for their look?
Honestly, I didn't pay too much attention to what Vali might wear originally - because he spends so much time in his armour or what you'd consider to be less formal attire - it's a lot simpler because at the end of the day, he doesn't want to wear so many layers if he's at his desk. Saying that, I have been using a mix of Cainhurst from Bloodborne and Innistrad from M/T/G for him. Very heavily Gothic in style, very dark colour palette, sort of this mix of Victorian and Tudor rolled into one - he's from a very old money, aristocratic family with quite a few among their ranks who are either at least partially undead or touched by the grave in some way (be they Moroi, dhampir, sorcerers, oracles), and well - my friend did use to joke Valerius would look like he would fit into Bloodborne quite well.
FAVOURITE: Does your OC have a favorite article of clothing or accessory? What is it? What's the meaning behind it? Do they wear it all the time or do they wear it sparingly to keep it safe?
This is easy - the bone amulet from Camellia, even when she was no longer by his side for a few years. Aside from the fact it was a gift and he views it as essentially Camellia's equivalent of a lady's favour, it does hold some protective properties and and he eventually arranges for the eye socket to hold his pallid crystal. The pallid crystal itself is tied to the Urgathoan faith, and I like to consider the combination of these two essentially becomes his holy symbol - a pure blend of his passions and his duty combined. Everyone knows he would not willingly part with it when they learn of the sentimental value of the original amulet, and he often wears it on full display.
