This month we're kicking off our new monthly event, the MistyNat Monthly Make! At the beginning of each month we'll be posting 10 simple (i.e., one word or short phrase) prompts, intended to inspire MistyNat fanwork creation.
The MistyNat Monthly Make is open to everyone, and all you need to do to participate is to use one (or more, or all!) of the monthly prompts as inspiration for a Misty/Nat-centered fanwork. You can interpret the prompts as liberally as you'd like, and you can make as many creations as you'd like, using as many prompts as you'd like. You can post your creation(s) at any time during the month, and either mention @mistynatweek or tag your creation with #mistynatweek, and we'll reblog it!

MistyNat Week is over, and while we all need to recover before another big event, we thought it might be fun to have a little one in celebration of Halloween! So, how are we going to celebrate?
HALLOWEEN WEEKEND ACTIVITIES
From October 27th to October 31st, we'll be releasing some MistyNat and/or Halloween-themed puzzles and games! Those activities will be posted here for you to complete or play at your leisure. You can also reblog to share your results or responses, or you can join us in our discord to discuss! You can expect things like crossword puzzles, ship headcanon memes, MistyNat jigsaw puzzles, etc.
In addition to those activities, we will also be doing some Christina and Juliette horror/Halloween movie screenings in discord!

MISTYNAT MONTHLY MAKE
At the end of this celebration, we will be kicking off our new monthly event, the MistyNat Monthly Make! The Monthly Make will run similar to the Halloween prompts described above, but on a longer time frame. At the beginning of each month, we will be posting 10 simple one word (or short phrase) prompts that fit under a monthly theme. Creators are welcome to choose any or all of those prompts and use them to inspire a fanwork to be posted during that month. This will be a longer-term, lower-pressure type of event than MistyNat Week, but will hopefully provide some rolling inspiration so that we can continue to share in the MistyNat love year-round! More information on this event will be posted at the beginning of November.

Sunday, October 1st: Fake Relationship. Misty and Nat pretend to be in a relationship for some reason (e.g., to get access to something, to ward off unwanted attention, make out to throw someone off, etc.). Submitted by two anonymous users.
Monday, October 2nd: Awkward Situation. Misty and/or Nat are caught in an awkward or embarrassing situation (e.g., one of them leaves an embarrassing voicemail, they are caught in a moment of intimacy, one witnesses the other breaking up with their partner, etc.). Submitted by two anonymous users.
Tuesday, October 3rd: Forced Proximity. Misty and Nat are forced to spend time together in some form (e.g., handcuffed together, physically or magically bound, locked in a room, snowed in, on a captive date, trapped in a perilous situation, etc.). Wednesday, October 4th: Bed Sharing. Misty and Nat are forced to share a bed. Submitted by two anonymous users.
Thursday, October 5th: Mutual Pining. Misty and Nat both pine for each other, but the other one doesn't know. Submitted by two anonymous users.
Friday, October 6th: Jealousy. Misty and/or Nat are jealous (e.g., because the other is trying to make them jealous, because they perceive a romantic threat, there is a love triangle, etc.). Submitted by four anonymous users.
Saturday, October 7th: Alternate Universes (AU). Misty and Nat in a setting other than the canon Yellowjackets universe (e.g., different time period AU, canon-divergent AU, mirror universe AU, fairytale AU, role swap AU, etc.). Submitted by four anonymous users.
You are now welcome to start working on your creations! Please remember that while you are welcome to work on/finish them early, you may not post until the appropriate day. If you are interested in participating, please read on below the cut for important information and links.
If you are interested in or planning to create some form of fanwork for MistyNat Week, please note the following guidelines on how to participate.
Anyone is eligible to participate in MistyNat Week. You don’t need to have declared participation or registered in any way. You do not need to be on tumblr, and if you post off-site, please just drop a link in the submission or ask box to have your creation featured here.
While the admins go by EST (and posts will be reblogged based on that time zone), you are welcome to begin sharing your creations as soon as the even begins in your local time zone.
When you post your creations, please either mention @mistynatweek and/or use the #mistynatweek tag. We will also attempt to track the main #mistynat tag, but only those creations tagging us directly are guaranteed to be reblogged. If you tagged your creations appropriately and you haven't seen us reblog it within 24 hours, please contact us via ask box to make sure that we've seen it (since tumblr tags/mentions can be so finnicky!).
You do not have to participate in all seven days to participate at all. Everyone is welcome to pick and choose the prompts you like/are inspired by. You are also welcome to create multiple creations for a single prompt, and combine prompts as you see fit.
There are no minimums/maximums for participation.
You may make late creations and post them any time after the day of the prompt has passed (e.g., post a Day 1 creation on day 3, or a day 4 creation three days after the event has ended, etc.).
Creations can be stand-alone, or they can be connected, either by content or by post (e.g., you can make it a multi-chapter fic with each chapter being a prompt, or you can make a post that just collates all content).
We do have an AO3 collection for this event, and you are encouraged to post any applicable creations (fic, art, edits, etc.) to the collection.
There is no content restriction, but please tag your submissions with any necessary warnings/ratings/etc. to keep this a healthy environment for all!
You are welcome to collaborate with others if you so choose.
Creations must be made specifically for this event. You may not add on to a pre-posted fic/art/etc. to fit it to the prompt. However, if there is a project you’ve been working on and it has not been posted prior to October 1st and happens to fit one of the event prompts, you may post that work for this event.
If you would like to participate, but don’t want to make a fanwork or don’t know how, there are plenty of other things you can do to be a part of MistyNat Week! Below are a few suggestions:
Betaing: If you are interested in volunteering to be a beta between now and the end of the event, please let us know and we will add you to our resource list. When you send us a message (ask/IM/submit) please give a little bit of info about what you will/won’t beta, and an estimated turn-around time.
Consultants: If you are interested in helping others either learn a new skill, or possibly serve as a sounding board for ideas, let us know and we will add you to our resource list. When you send us a message (ask/IM/submit) please give a little bit of info about what kinds of stuff you can help with (e.g., photoshop, music suggestions, video editing, etc.).
Creating Tutorials: This event is obviously first and foremost about celebrating MistyNat, but it can also be an awesome catalyst to learn a new skill or pick up some new tips. If you’re feeling uninspired by the prompts but still want to participate, tutorials can be a really helpful thing for those wanting to get their toes wet.
Promotion: It seems a bit obvious, but people need to know the event is happening to be able to participate! Spreading word of the event to other sites or on your own blog will help generate excitement and let newcomers know about MistyNat Week! You can promote this event by reblogging our posts, but you are also strongly encouraged to make your own, if you would like!
Cheerleading: Making fanworks can be hard, and staying motivated is crucial! If you would like to volunteer as a cheerleader please let us know and we will add you to our resource list. When you send us a message, please share any specifications you would like to (e.g., what platforms you use, what kinds of fanworks you'd like to hear about, availability, etc.).
Further Prompting: Maybe you have a plot bunny but no time to write it. Or you see a screencap that is just perfect, but don’t like making graphics. Send them in, and for those creators that are just a bit stuck, maybe your specific prompt will get their juices flowing!

Prompt suggestions are now officially closed, and prompt voting has begun! Voting will be open until September 10th, at 5pm ET. You may vote for up to seven prompts by selecting your choices on this poll. You can see how long until the poll closes here. If you submitted suggestions, you are still welcome to vote, and you may vote for your own suggestion(s).
Below are the prompts that have been suggested. Some suggestions were excluded or generalized if they didn’t fit the theme or were extremely specific. All other suggestions were included, but a few have also been combined if they were similar, and sub-prompts that fit within a more general theme are included as examples (with a TVTropes link where applicable) under that larger trope. That being said, due to the nature of tropes there may still be some overlap, so when our prompts are chosen we will phrase the winning prompt as inclusively as possible to maximize our range of creations.
There is a short description of the most straightforward interpretation of each prompt below the cut, but remember that you are welcome to interpret a prompt however you like for the event (so if the definition doesn’t spark you but the word or the TVTropes page does, run with it!).

A Day in the Life; Fanworks focusing around Misty and Nat on a simple, non-eventful day.
Alternate Universes (AU); Misty and Nat in a setting other than the canon Yellowjackets universe (e.g., different time period AU, canon-divergent AU, mirror universe AU, fairytale AU, role swap AU, etc.).
Amnesia; Misty and/or Nat lose their memory, sometimes changing their personality.

Theme voting is now closed, and (as one theme had a substantial lead) lightning round voting will not be needed. Thus, the MistyNat Week theme will be Tropes & Clichés! This theme was submitted by @dykedolly and an anonymous user.
Since our theme has been chosen, the submission and ask boxes are now open for prompt suggestions. The process for suggesting prompts is the same as theme suggestions, but now all submissions must fit the theme of “Tropes & Clichés." For those unfamiliar with the terms, tropes are literary conventions that are familiar to the audience, and that will provide the audience with some sort of expectation of the story being told. A trope becomes a cliché when it is overused and has become so recognizable that the audience not only has an idea of what will happen, but can wholly predict the series of events to come. (There is a very thin line between these concepts, and for our purposes we will not distinguish between them.) You can visit the TV Tropes website for more information and an encyclopedia of examples and inspiration!
Guidelines for suggesting prompts are below the cut.
Anyone may submit prompt suggestions. To submit your suggestion, just send us an ask, or use the submission box. Once our prompts are chosen, you will be credited if your prompt wins. If you do not wish to be credited please note that on your submission. You can submit anonymously as well.
There is no limit on number of prompts you may submit. You may submit multiple prompt suggestions in one entry, or in multiple entries, whichever is easier.
Please do not submit specific scenarios (e.g., “Shauna and Tai bet Natalie that she can't spend a week living with Misty"). Prompts should be interpret-able in multiple ways to allow for creative freedom and a range of creations. Your suggestions don't need to be an "official" trope (i.e., there doesn't need to be a TV Tropes page for it), but your prompt should still just be a word or short phrase. For example, instead of the scenario described above, you could submit "betting" or "The Bet", or "living together" or "roommates", etc.
When you submit your trope/cliché, you are welcome to provide a link to the TV Tropes page (if applicable), though this is not required. (For example, in the above example you could link to The Bet.)
Prompts must fit the Tropes & Clichés theme. This may include other theme suggestions that did not win if the topic qualifies. For example, though it could have been a theme on its own, "Alternate Universe" is a trope, and thus can be submitted as a prompt. (More specific alternate universes can also be submitted as prompts, e.g., "coffeeshop AU," "bizarro universe," etc.) This applies to any theme that did not win and also falls under Tropes & Clichés.
Suggestions that are too specific will be generalized (if possible), and suggestions that are not tropes/clichés will be excluded or modified to fit the theme.
While you are free to submit anything you like, no harmful/offensive/discriminatory suggestions will be posted. If you are unsure if your suggestion is appropriate, feel free to ask.
