Did you have an awareness at that young age that there were some idiotic things that the adults were making you do? Yes. I had two feelings at once. One: I am an adult. I am a citizen, I should be able to walk down the street. When I was nine years old I’d go buy a magazine and go to a diner and read it... and I thought that this was normal, and that must’ve looked very weird. So you were a tiny adult. I was like... don’t hustle me, I’m not a kid. At the same time, conversely I... knew adults had control over me and I couldn’t stand it.
