5 people that inspire you the most

I always have trouble with questions about that, because what first comes to mind is that you gotta have some grand role models to list. Some renowned names with great achievements, or who changed the world. It’s pressure, which often makes me avoid these questions.

But you know what? Fuck it. 

Screw that typical approach, which usually serves only to maintian your own persona as someone enlightened and cool. 

I’m going to list 5 (of many) people who aren’t Nobel Prize winners, but who with their day to day activities, choices, passions, skills, or simply kindness are a true inspiration to me.

Martyna Wojciechowska - a Polish journalist and traveller who created series “Woman at the edge of the world” in which she focuses on lives and struggles of women from all around the world. Not just some city living girls, but women in different cultures, religions and professions, showing their resilience, courage, kindness. There’s also a book by that title, so if you’re interested check it out. 

My cousin. She’s a mom of two, a New Projects & Research Manager in a big company, and an active woman pursuing her own passions. And she does all of it well, proving that the whole “You can’t be a mom and have a career” bullshit (or “When you have kids you focus on them and lose yourself”).

Anna Bińkowska. My friend. And a published author. It’s truly inspirational to see people you’re close with achieve their dreams. Plus, she didn’t follow any expected route to get here, she did it all in her own way.

The Fab Five. So yes, I’m picking someone famous for the list, but they inspire me not with their achievements, but with who and how they are. The acceptance and patience they show, kindness. Even when they’re rightfully scared and skeptical (Karamo’s case), they still maintain sensitive and open. That’s truly inspirational for a snarky bitch like me.

@indiefic whom I mention not to kiss her ass, but because her writing skills and world-building is a fucking strong inspiration for my own creativity. There are many wonderful writers, fic writers, published authors who I LOVE to follow and read, but discovering Indie has opened a new door for my imagination. Never before have someone’s stories influence my own creations so much.

top 5 things you're tired of hearing about

Polish politics (which isn’t to say I’m one of those people who keeps far away from politics and pretends everything is dandy. I’m just fucking tired of being burdened with it by media, family, random people, as if nothing else was happening)

USA. I don’t even mean on tumblr, but our own media is paying more attention to what your government is doing than they do to what’s happening just across our border. 

Finding a husband. Sure I want to build a future with someone, but I’m really tired of all the older people telling me how I should find one asap, because it’s really hard being alone and I can never be happy if I don’t have a spouse. 

Anti-vaccination bullshit. 

Warm weather prognosis. It’s November, go away with your stupid warm weather that just makes barometer go nuts, which results in my frequent migraines.

you were the first person i was gonna check when i saw that henry cavill first look video. he's so not a good match UGH geralt of rivia is not that!!! i'm so glad we agree on this

Yeah, he’s definitely not a good match. And it’s not about his acting skills, but looks and vibe. Cavill is pretty. Geralt isn’t. He’s attractive thanks to his charisma and rugged hotness, not a classic pretty boy. Cavill just doesn’t fit, at least for me. 

It’s not like I imagined someone particular for that role, but now that I think about it there are so many “better” choices. Colin Farrell could pull it off, I think. Viggo Mortensen, perhaps? Hell, I’d love if they went out of their white male comfort zone and picked a poc for Geralt.
