I remember this manga ages ago. I like AGK a lot.
I only started to get into this series around this year(I think it ended last year...?). I watched a good chunk of the anime first, but then after hearing that it did not have some of the portions that the manga has, I switched to the manga version. The animation was smooth and very well done in the anime, but I think I prefer the sharpness of the artwork in the manga version.
This series is so good and I am so sad that I am nearing the end. I think it`s the characters that make it raise above you`r average fighting series. Like even some of the villains even thou they are brutal and sadistic, there is something about them that makes me care. Like Esdeath, she is a monster but there a scenes that show that she has a kind side too, and it gives her character depth or that is how I feel.
God I love Esdeath. Her introduction gave the same feeling of terror when I saw Arima in V14.
Her backstory that she tells in the island was fucking terrifying and fascinating at the same time.
