Happy New Year. It's the start of 2014 and I'm back at work. I have to say, I'm really pleased with my first day back. Not had one issue. All the servers were up and running when I arrived and no one had any problem getting onto the system and cracking on. The only issue I've had to deal with this morning has been a whiteboard issue which originated before the Chrsitmas Holidays.
Another reason for me to be happy is I have a new toy to play with. I have a new Ultrabook. I recently purchased an ulta small form factor PC, for my desk, from Very PC. I also needed something for use at home and around the school. I have ordered new iPad Airs to repace the staff iPads and as I also had an iPad 4 I was going to get myself and Air. However, I quickly realised that I could do much more with a windows laptop than I could with an ipad, therfore making me far more efficient. The only problem being that it was difficult to find a laptop which was small and portable enough to use around school for the same price as an iPad.
This is where Very PC came in. After being very impressed with my Broadleaf one USFF PC I decided to have a look at their Ultrabooks. I managed to get a very nice, very light and quite nippy Ultrabook for the same price as an iPad air.

It's a joy to use. I'm currently running Windows 8.1 Enterprise on it and it flies. With upto 7 hours of battery life it's proving to be very useful around school and allows me to do everything I can do, at my desk, from anywhere in school.
I have found this ultrabook to be far more efficient than an ipad. I can get far more done especially when working with documents. I can also play on Minecraft whilst I'm at home, which is always a bonus :-)
I now havea neat duo of Very PC computers on my desk. The Broadleaf one USFF PC which is a dream to use with a core i7 CPU and 16Gb RAM, 120Gb SSD, 1Tb SATA HDD and my Very PC Ultrabook. Very happy and most importantly very efficient.
