Over 5,600 flights across the United States were delayed on Monday as the federal government shutdown entered its fourth week, primarily due to staffing shortages among air traffic controllers.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), major airports such as Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, Austin–Bergstrom International Airport in Texas, and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport implemented ground delay and ground stop programs to manage the disruptions.
