This videos talks about depression and anxiety
This video I found on Youtube would be a good tool when teaching health education and more specifically on the topic of mental health. In this video, it illustrates some issues that students will face that can cause them to feel sad or anxious. It uses the children's film ‘Inside Out’ which picks up on some of the student’s interests, which I think is a great tool when trying to find something to relate to the students. It explains how people can feel in certain situations and what the processes might be for them to work through it.
I think it is a great video that can be used in health education because it can help students feel that they are not alone with these feelings and it shows that anxiety and depression is a very common thing that they can get help and support for. It verbalises some strategies that students can personally use and creates the start of a discussion that should be easily talked about instead of thinking it’s a taboo topic.
