The Ultimate USWNT MASTER Masterpost
I seriously needed to create one of these but it’s time to appreciate each and every single one of the World Cup winning 23, obtaining that 3rd star. Hope you enjoy this.
Hope is without a doubt the best goalkeeper in women’s soccer today, if not ever. Her reflexes are extraordinary and I can definitely compare her to Manuel Neuer. When it comes to penalties, she can tell where the opponent is going to kick the ball plus she can play mind games, such as her penalty save vs Brazil in 2011, Sasic’s miss in the semi-final, and this.......
Syd is without a doubt a very underrated striker on the team. Not only can she shoot and score goals, but she has the pace and the strength to outrun and fend off defenders that chase her down. Her 35 goals in 75 games is not too shabby as well.
Christie Rampone: The Legend
An absolute legend, she always gets the job done at the back and she is an inspiration because she proves to us that even though she’s 40 years old, she can still play her position brilliantly.....like a badass.
Becky Sauerbrunn: The Brick Wall
Anyone that thinks that Becky Sauerbrunn is not the best defender in the world is just plain stupid. I mean, the only player to win the NWSL defender of the year 3 years in a row......... Whatever comes her way, she can stop it. She is the complete package. She can tackle and make the most incredible clearances. Broon can definitely be compared to Thiago Silva, who is definitely the best men’s CB, alongside Jerome Boateng. We are all familiar with these....
Kelley O’Hara: The Real Deal
KO, the player that can play in any position, even goalkeeper like Mia Hamm. She plays left and right back, does a phenomenal job. Plays wings, does fantastic. I’m just waiting to see when she gets to play GK.
Whitney Engen: The Underrated Defender
When Whit plays, she gets the job done. Having played only 29 CAPS, she needs to play more. Whit is like JJ and Becky, an exceptional header.
Shannon Boxx: The Midfield Controller
When Boxxy plays that CM role, she controls the midfield like a queen. She hardly ever loses the ball. Plus she scored her first goal in her first CAP. Boxxy will be definitely missed.
Amy Rodriguez: The One Who can Shoot from Anywhere
I honestly love how ARod plays because she is a complete striker. She can dribble, head the ball well, and she can shoot from literally any angle, anywhere. Just take this shot for example.....
Heather O’Reilly: The Girl Outta Nowhere
HAO is an extremely underrated winger. She has always delivered when she plays on the pitch plus when we need her to score, she comes outta nowhere and smashes that ball into the net. Not to also mention that are passing is exquisite.
Carli Lloyd: The Trequartista
Carli, there honestly aren’t enough good things about her. She plays a CM/CAM role but she plays like a striker and whenever we need that goal, Carli makes it happen. If she doesn’t win the World Player of the Year, I will be in total shock. Not a lot of people can say that they’ve scored a halfway goal...in a World Cup Final...
Ali Krieger: The Crosser and the Best
Kriegs, the best RB in the women’s sport. Not only can she defend but she can also cross and deliver those assists. Plus she can make those nice clearances like this one.
Lauren Holiday: The Dribbler
There honestly isn’t any bad at all to say about Cheney. Like Boxxy, she always commands that midfield when she plays, dribbling and passing her way through the field. She finished her career with 133 CAPS and 24 goals. She will never be forgotten.
Alex Morgan: The Complete Striker
Alex, Alex, Alex.....where to start......Imma keep it short and sweet. She should always be used as striker because when she’s at her prime, she scores goals. Not just any simple goals though, but goals like this....
Morgan Brian: The Smooth Criminal
I love Moe to the highest degree. She will be the new Cheney. When she plays, she shines. It’s simple as that. What I admire the most about her are her super smooth touches of the ball. It just always blows me away.
Megan Rapinoe: The Complete Winger
Pinoe is perfect for dribbling and delivering those crosses. She’ll continue to deliver, and she’ll notch some nice assists in Rio, if she gets selected which she probably will be picked. Her cross in Brazil 2011 is probably her most important pass but remember this....
Lori Chalupny: The Quiet Performer
A quality midfielder and back, just like some of the lesser player gals, she always performs solidly on the pitch. She can score good goals too...Chups will also be missed.
Tobin Heath: The Queen of the Skills
Y’all know that Tobin is my fave. She always performs exceptionally brilliant. Her skills on the field blow all of us away every game, whether it’s a well executed pass, a nice shot, or her classic nutmeg. She will shine in Rio like she did in London.
Ash is certainly a quality keeper. Her reflexes and speed is beyond amazing and she should DEFINITELY start more USWNT games. Please Jill...........
Julie Johnston: The Header Goal Defender
Don’t judge this title (lol) but it’s true. Her headers are deadly at goal and she will be a star defender for many years to come. She’s young now and she’s doing great. Who knows how great she’ll be in a couple of years (really great)
Abby Wambach: The Diving Header Master
Abby, the legend of the USWNT, the leading goalscorer over everybody. She was known when she played as a little girl as the diving header expert. And she still is. A good chunk of her 184 goals have been from her head after all. When you retire this year, remember, you will never be forgotten.
Alyssa Naeher: The Shot Stopper
She doesn’t get much attention on the team, but she should be respected for representing us. She is still a solid GK.
Meghan Klingenberg: The Long Shot Master and the Back
Kling, one of the ultimate backs and not only can she defend, but her long shots...........breathtaking everybody......just....breathtaking.......
Christen Press: The Power Shooter
Presi is definitely a young striker who has proven herself whenever she plays. 25 goals in 52 CAPS is a very nice stat. Plus, her shot power can smash a door off its hinges. Seriously....
Really hope you enjoyed this. Massive shoutout to @k-o-5 for helping me out with these gifs.
