Where do I even begin with this song? It’s so dramatic, so passionate, and so heart-wrenchingly amazing that I’m confused as to why I didn’t cover it sooner. I was actually quite shocked at how great Rena’s voice fit the song. I always thought of Rena’s voice as being more childish, but as I’ve seen here, it’s also capable of being quite passionate when the song calls for passion. I also didn’t know that her voicebank had breath sounds, so that helped make the cover sound more realistic. This cover was also an experiment in different reverb settings. Overall, I think this is one of the better covers I’ve made. Hope you all enjoy it!

I had a ton of fun doing this one. It also had a lot of editing that I would’ve rather not had to do, but I think it paid off, since I honestly think that this cover is quite good. For some reason, Yowa and Rena sound really good together here. I’ll probably try using them in another duet that doesn’t require so many effects and see how this statement stands. Anyway, I’ve been wanting to do this song for a long time, but I haven’t found many good USTs for it. So, I expanded my search for VSQs, and I found one that was really good, but without harmonies. Since I really REALLY like listening to fragments of good songs to the point of beating my head open on the corner of my desk until every harmony is as close to perfect as I think it can get, I decided to challenge myself and make the harmonies for this one without looking at the preexisting USTs as a guide. I’m willing to say that I think I did well making the harmonies, but I really have to hand it to Seiho524, who made the VSQ and had all the correct rhythms and syncopation and whatnot. I don’t know what it’s like in Vocaloid, but I do know that making complex rhythms in UTAU is REALLY hard since there’s no grid snapping to be had. Anyway, complaining aside, I truly am very proud of this cover, and I worked very hard on it. I hope you guys like it as much as I do!

The VSQ I used was made by Seiho524. I made the harmonies and fixed some slight lyrical errors myself.

I think this song has slightly suggestive themes in it, but nothing to make it R-18. If you look a little deeper into the lyrics, things get questionable, so just be careful. I’ve also read the usage terms for the UTAU I used when covering this song, and nothing in the writing seems to explicitly oppose the covering of these kinds of songs. If anyone knows more about this, please message me privately about it.

I remember when I made an old cover of 天ノ弱 with Rena that I claimed she sounded like Gumi, but listening to her now, I feel like my thoughts have changed on that matter. I have been trying to deter the temptation to say this in every Rena cover I’ve made so far, but I now think Rena sounds better in Rin songs than Gumi songs. Not only that, but she seems to blend well with Rin in the instrumental for this song. I feel like the main reason for that is both Rena and Rin have similarly girly and youthful elements to their voices, but between the two of them, I tend to have an easier time understanding Rena, though I will admit that Rin’s updates do make her easier to understand than when I first heard her in her earlier versions. Either way, I have found that Rena suits the characters of most Rin songs very well. Feel free to agree or disagree with this opinion. Enjoy the cover!
