The beginning.

Few updates,

School:

Orientation week is over, and the wave has arrived. Needless to say, I’ve been slammed, but it’s UT, so I guess I shouldn’t be complaining? Definitely not undergrad anymore and adjustments have started, so I should be okay despite the wave.

Social life:

Uhmhmhmhm. I’ve made a few new friends, but, like I’ve said in my previous posts, I’ve been really awkward about the whole thing...and really haven’t been doing a great job of forcing myself to get out of my comfort zone and get to know people. BUT I did go to a rush event for this pharmacy fraternity...it didn’t suck. The people seemed nice...yeah idkk man. Not sure how I feel about it quite yet. I have to go to 2 more events before I decide on rush or not. I’ll see how things go. I did find out about an organization with a research position, and I plan on applying! (why that is important I will discuss in another post later)

I’ve been going out to 6th with my roommate for the past 2ish weeks I’ve lived here....that’s been really really fun. :))

Love life:

*crickets*

No, there is a guy......kind of.

..But, at the same time, there kinda isn’t?

Idk what the hell is going on...not sure he does either.

I’m not even sure anything can happen.

We’ll see where things go. lol

Back to getting my life together...at 4 AM.

So many things...

...just enough time?

Tomorrow marks the beginning of a week and a half exam break, then back into the trenches.

There are all of these things that I want to do, but I first need to deal with what I have to do. So I'm going to make some lists.

DO NOW

- Pass this semesters classes (especially A&P, PChem Lecture, and PharmAd)

- Don't self-criticize to the point of debilitation 

- Breathe. 

- Be a better girlfriend. (to both my boyfriend and my sister wife)

- Refer back to first item, then second

- Clean my room

- Eat at least twice a day. 

- Work towards feeling comfortable in my body 

DO WHEN EVERYTHING ABOVE IS UNDER CONTROL

- Raise money for I Am That Girl

- Prepare for Halloween

- Plan my best friend's 22nd birthday weekend

- Visit my family

- Re-read the Mamet plays that I have in my apartment

- Do some serious crafting

- Weekly sweaty yoga

Okay. So all written out it doesn't seem like much, but I'm sure there are loads of things that I am forgetting. Plus you'd be surprised how much effort each of these things take. (especially the 3rd on my first list)

I can do this. I can do this. I can do this.

Pharmacy school anecdote:

I don't know if it's this way everywhere, but in pretty much all of the schools in Texas you have "region assignments."  This basically means that they split the class up in to different groups and ship them off to another campus so that everyone can do their rotations without overburdening the local community.  UTexas has 5 regions: Austin/Temple/Waco, San Antonio, Galveston/Houston, Dallas/Ft. Worth, and El Paso/PanAm.

I was worried that I was going to have to move, but NOPE! I was assigned to Austin. Looks like I get to live here for at least another 3 years.
