If Dawn and Dusk had to come from any specific country- what do you think that would be and how that culture would tie into their beliefs and personalities? Or even affect the nature and landscape they grew up in?
Hmm, that's interesting! Canonically, Dawn and Dusk are from an era that happened roughly around the same time as the roman empire would have, and I planned to have their original language be some form of early germanic/latin as the culture they stemmed from would be similar to iron-age Mediterranean culture? Obviously though, I do not know early germanic or latin, I just know a bit of latin and that's it LOL. If Dawn & Dusk's world was set in a real-world location, I imagine they'd be somewhere between inland Italy and the alps? They had never traveled, so they had never seen the sea before, and most of the flora/fauna I've fleshed out for them would be pretty at home in the Mediterranean climate!
I don't think it would affect their personalities much, given much of it is tied to their powerset, and given they're magic forest children the culture of the average humans/monsters that would hypothetically live in their real-world equivalent would still be alien to them. Dawn and Dusk would likely be equivalent to Fae creatures in our world, albeit on the less malicious side.
As for the many wars/civil wars that took place in the Roman Empire, there's the same issue as the Monster/human war that's already there in story, so nothing much would change there.
