Récent food dump from the island of Utila Honduras 🤗🤗
Caribbean Carnival in Utila was amazing. I have so many photos I'd love to share. But here are just a few ❤️
this island feels like a dream. I learned so many lessons at 50ft underwater and if you ever want to learn how to release control/surrender — then head to the ocean.
my survival instinct was clashing so deeply with my training the first few days and trust me, breathing underwater isn’t natural especially at that depth so it’s normal but I was told many times — “you have to stop fighting the water”. Eventually, I became more at ease under water in the ocean, than at the surface (HATE surface skills).
I also learned how much I struggle with trusting others. we were paired into dive buddies and mine was a Virgo. I had quick flashbacks to the year I tried dating a Virgo and as a Scorpio how we clashed over the anxious/control dynamic. eventually I learned to let the Virgo lead until they had issues then I would step forward.
sharing air under water, stimulating emergency rescue circumstances, “saving” our buddies as necessary…. I kept having mental check-ins ensuring I wanted to do this. I’m wildly grateful I did if only for the lessons but I’ll be booking a month long to devote to my advancing training likely in the winter.
the amazing part was my entire group was made up of travelers, they had all been on the road for months. It was such a nostalgic flashback to my time as a nomad, and I had to gently remind myself I am in a new season. A season where roots are what give me the freedom to roam and return. A season where I know where I call home and I spent YEARS on the road searching for that feeling of contentment. Hearing stories around the dinner table of all the countries we had visited, of the places we had lived…and now I have friends in new places! I was offered opportunities to visit and I’m taking the offer in the fall. So so so grateful.
