Incident Management App

The goals of the project were:

To give the supervisors real-time update about the progress of an incident (e.g. gas explosion)

To give the field operatives a means of quickly sharing their status, completing whatever sub-processes were required in a safe, timely and efficient way.

My role 

I facilitated workshops with engineers, dashboard managers and stakeholders to improve the architecture, layout and data provided in the design.

The first step was for us to create a full service workflow, understanding how all the different roles and business areas interacted with each other.

Once we’d completed the workflow, we worked with operatives to create a hero journey, documenting the requirements for each screen. This was in place of making personas mostly due to time limitations.

After validating with a range of operatives at each layer of the process, I designed the interface, taking inspiration from SAP Fiori and existing business solutions.

After some initial sketches, most of the high fidelity design was created using proto.io in order to facilitate rapid testing and feedback with the engineers.

The prototype and high level design specification document were handed over to the project team to continue development of the solution.
