It is astounding that Ryuichi Sakamoto still does intriguing work at this stage of his career. He could go the easy way and just play his greatest hits over and over again until he is ready for the retirement, yet he keeps concerting with many interesting musicians. One of those he currently records with is Alva Noto and their collaboration, already mentioned on my blog, also yielded this tune which is from utp_ where their collision of the piano and the electronics is augmented by Ensemble Modern, the orchestra that promotes pieces from modern composers. The track I posted from their LP is sparse and stuck, cause it is both ambient and atonal.
