“i can tell you’re nervous,” he lightly teased as he bumped his shoulder against zhirou’s. he’d offered to stick with her to help her get acclimated, sure he would lose her eventually to someone during the night. “you’re probably looking like a panicked deer right now – stiff and wide-eyed. it might help if you have some wine or champagne. then, a dance will loosen you up and everyone will see how pretty you are and fight for your hand. i might have to give them a black eye, but i would let them win in the end – just for you,” he teased, a small smirk on his face.

marc scoffed as he sat in the flimsy chair. he’d gone to the small gym that he’d set up in one of the spare buildings near the dance studio. he was fully convinced everyone was being dramatic when it came to the storm. he was used to the cold, knew how to deal with it. but, since the door was frozen shut, he couldn’t prove it. “i’ve got some power bars in case you’re hungry, but don’t, like, eat them all,” he offered, motioning to the gym bag he’d brought with him. “this fucking sucks, though. why couldn’t this happen before my workout? i’ve already finished and i want to get out of here, so of course the door has to get stuck now. hope you didn’t have any big plans for today, bud.”

“just don’t touch anything,” cyril warned after he allowed the other into his how to take shelter from the storm. he knew there was no sense allowing the other to freeze to death out there — he wasn’t that heartless. plus, he could simply feel it in the air that this was no normal fall of snow. so, for now, it was better to play nice than otherwise. he had various magical tools and ingredients gathered about his apartment though they did nothing to truly help him in the town — at least, not in the way that he wished. “you can thank me for saving your life later seeing as i doubt you can do anything for me in here nor do i know just yet what i want from you.”

bodhi was more so ripping his crescent into pieces rather than eating it as he nervously but silently fretted. it had been some time since the storm started yet no signs were given that it would let up. he’d been in treacherous weather before — but he’d been prepared and taught how to deal with those situations. here, he wasn’t safely tucked away in his ship with supplies that would carry him through the end. at the very least, he’d been stuck in the bakery. but, how long would that food last? it certainly wasn’t nutritious enough to keep them going. “this isn’t the end, is it? this isn’t how the town comes to an end? i’ve heard what happens to you when you freeze to death — it is very unpleasant. i’ve even heard some turn on each other when they’re stranded, even if they have the supplies they need. i wouldn’t blame you if you want to hurt me, but i really, really don’t want that to happen.”

namor was certainly not pleased with the sudden turn in weather, used to and missing the warm weather of the sea that concealed talokan. still, he did his best not to be too inconvenienced as he stood and watched the snowfall from the windows of the cantina. he didn’t say much at first as he crossed his arms over his chest. “you know, you have a very grumpy little face,” he finally said, deciding that making conversation would be for the best for both of them. “i know this is not where you wish to be, but you may as well try to find something to enjoy while you are here. the gods brought us here for a reason, you should not be resistant or you will suffer. unless, you like suffering,” he teased, finally turning around to face the other.

“flor pequeñita, you did not cause this just so you could be with me alone, did you?” ernesto teased, characteristic smirk on his lips as he lightly and absentmindedly strummed the guitar he had with him. he’d been on his way to the music shop to get some new strings when the weather grew too perilous to continue on. “i know you have been eyeing me, i’ve seen it. not to worry, you do not need to say anything for me to accept your admiration,” he lied, creating the fantasy for the other.

claudia groaned dramatically as she flopped her body onto one of the cafe’s sofas. she was used to snow, she hated snow. it reminded her of home: sparkly, cold, white, unappealing. “if you want real hot chocolate, i might be willing to make some for you,” she offered as she positioned herself upside down, staring up at the other she was stuck with. “this is a once in a lifetime offer, so you better think about it long and hard. but, don’t expect i’ll do it for free. you can, like, do plant stuff, right? can you make poisonous plants?”

ernesto’s hands were itching to strum a guitar, wanting to be the center of attention. but, the music being played didn’t call for a guitar or a voice like his, so he was having difficulty with occupying his time. he took up two glasses of wine, offering it out to a woman nearby. “aqui, something to help liven the place up. this music… it makes me want to sleep. for a party, this is no good,” he mused with a small laugh. however, as he looked at her, his brows pinched. “it would be impossible for me to know you, wouldn't it?”
