Thoughts on “uVampire” (iZombie)
I liked how this one started and ended with ones that focused on the two other main characters, Scott and Ellie. Both are def a setup for more later. We already got grandpa as a chimp. That's really ironic because he used to be a voice actor for a chimp. And then Ellie's mom is still alive. I honestly think she'll pop up one of these days and then eventually the mom will allow Ellie to possess her and then travel the world together. That's like end game stuff there.
I was really impressed with how many different storylines they had going on, but it was all easy enough to follow. My favorite besides Gwen and Ellie's would be the whole Galatea thing. It really sounds like she's a Frankenstein’s monster, but they haven't explicitly stated that yet. And then she's trying to corporealize Xitalu, a god-like creature that destroys everything upon its return. That's so crazy! I love it. That was a twist I was not expecting. Speaking of Gwen, its cute she finally went on a date with the monster hunter. Hopefully doing stuff doesn't transfer the zombie stuff. And I'm real glad she now remembers her brother. I bet he'll be real cool about his sister being a zombie. He's a big comic book nerd, I feel like those people are more accepting at crazy ideas in real life.
We've been spending a lot more time with the vampire ladies than I thought we would, but its been pretty good. Like, they don't wanna be vampires as much as everyone doesn't want them to be. It was thrust upon them by the one person I'm the group no one liked, Claire. Besides Galatea, she's the real troublemaker of this comic. It's her fault that the hunters are in town and the reason her sisters have any problems right now. Gwen would also be dealing with less problems, but her bf hasn't gotten in the way too much. It also turns out that the vampires know about s zombie problem in town. I wonder if that means more than just Gwen and Amon. I'm sure we'll find out quick!!
The one thing about the TV show I want to mention (spoiler for 1st half of season 2) is that Liz does end up dating a monster hunter. Though I don't feel like they got that from the comic. That was just an easy way to continue the tension/secrets between the main love interests. It works. But I don't think they'll be taking anything else from the comic. Like the whole Xitalu thing.
I'm really enjoying this comic (and TV show). I cannot wait to dive into what's next. I'm sure it'll be more craycray!!
