Uvarovite
Uvarovite is an extremely rare green coloured garnet, often compared to an emerald and is said to be the rarest of the garnet variants. Its colour is caused by the chromium in its formula. Unlike other garnets this gem has chromium in its composition continually while other green garnets have traces of chromium as an impurity. Like other garnets it’s a calcium chromium silicate and has a hardness of 6.5-7. This gem was first found in the Ural Mountains of Russia in 1832 by Germain Henri Hess, a Swiss-Russian chemist and mineralogist. He then named the gem after Count Sergei Uvarov, a Russian politician and scholar whose support of scientific study and mineralogical research helped education and scientists for many years. Uvarovite is currently found primarily in Finland and the Ural Mountains of Russia with other locations being in USA (California), Canada, South Africa and more. Unlike all the other garnets this is the only gem that doesn’t have any variants, that is due to a lack of “wiggle room” for substitution of other minerals within its composition. As well as this gem only forming in very specific environments making it almost impossible for other minerals to be found within the gem. Uvarovite symbolizes individuality, prosperity and abundance. It is heavily associated with the heart “chakra”/energy source.
This information is not my own nor are the images, I am not an expert. It was all found from various websites. If this actually gets seen feel free to ask for the websites I use and I will comment all the links. Please let me know if any information is incorrect and provide links to resources if possible :)
Same mini note as last time- Please let me know if anything is written weirdly I can say with confidence that this has NOT been proof read.
Notes
Yaaaay no variants so it only took me an hour to write! I'd have written it over the weekend and posted it sooner but I spent the weekend watching soul eater instead so I got it done when I had a free hour today! I am posting this between marvel rivals matches so theres no time to proof read, ignore any misspellings plssss.
Thanks for reading!

What role do Uvarovites play in Homeworld?
I mean that’s a type of garnet so I assume they’re commanders like Hessonite, Pyrope and Demantoid
