HE WENT AND HELD THE SCREWDRIVER UZI LEFT BEHIND
I CANT DO THIS
I LOVE NUZI DO MUCH
I wanna analyze the scene from Uzi’s pov, mostly because I saw someone misinterpret it greatly on Twitter a while ago and it still bothers me
(this is all just my opinion, plus I’m autistic, so sometimes I don’t catch onto things like others would and I might possibly miss something or misunderstand it, I’m sorry if I do!)
To start things off, Uzi is scared.
They just lost V — literally watched her ‘die’ — fell down an elevator shaft — which was no doubt terrifying — and her body is changing in ways she not only can’t control but also can’t explain. She’s terrified, hurting, and vulnerable, not to mention feels awful when N desperately tries to reach V and asks Uzi for help but she can’t give it.
Once N realized the added stress he caused Uzi and tried to apologize and comfort her, he was immediately cut off by Tessa, who hazardously threw a weapon in front of Uzi’s face— separating her from the only thing that could’ve possibly made her feel safe.
Right after that, Tessa looks down at Uzi and speaks to her condescendingly, telling her she should to stay behind and get a fucking BOX. (Like, asking Uzi to stay behind is one thing, but telling her to get inside of a box too?? Dude.)
Uzi, rightfully, is confused and disturbed by this, and she tries to argue against Tessa but Tessa cuts her off and instead turns to N.
Seeing as N is a weak point for Uzi, she shuts up immediately and turns to him as well, probably trusting and hoping he’d be on her side— he’s her friend, after all, and currently the only person she can trust and rely on
When N not only doesn’t defend her but basically AGREES with Tessa, Uzi’s demeanor starts to crumble.
Then, as if to rub salt in the wound, N says “We’re not gonna HURT you” firmly to Tessa, implying that Tessa wanted to hurt Uzi and N knew about it.
This scares Uzi, for obvious reasons.
The person she trusted basically betrayed her right before her eyes— how can she feel safe when N is siding with someone he knows wants to cause her harm? How can she trust he won’t turn on her too?
It’s all these overwhelming emotions that caused her solver to flare up and created that massive shockwave when Uzi tried to stop/contain it.
Uzi was scared, but the last look she gave N was a look that — in my opinion — screams ‘how could you?’ showing the betrayal, and possibly even slight anger, she felt
Also, fun fact as if to cause us more pain, in this scene you can hear notes that sound very similar to the notes that play during ‘Falling… For You?’ and ‘Huggie Wuggies.’ What if I cried.
Now, a little thing I would like to add just because:
Tessa (the solver) was definitely using N here. It knew he caused Uzi to be vulnerable and by turning to him and making him be the one to tell her she should stay behind it made Uzi’s emotional response much stronger than it would have been if the solver tried to talk to her itself
Anyways, thank you for coming to my TEDTalk. I’m sorry if there are any mistakes or typos I might’ve missed
Taking this off my twt priv but
Ppl take the merch ads WAY too seriously. No, V is not abused or bullied in canon. No, she’s not being left out. No, the other characters “don’t care abt her.” The ads are literally satire. And unfortunately Glitch tends to have an on-going mischaracterization motif in ads (Ex. Pomni being extremely whiny)
Ads are not canon. Yes, they’re fun and silly, but not canon. N and Uzi love V (confirmed platonically in canon at least, and if you prefer romantically that’s fine too). They care about her and it was shown several times throughout the series. Hell, in the final ep, N could’ve shown his drawings to literally ANY one else but he CHOSE to show V. And Uzi then smiled at their interaction. V. IS. OKAY. I PROMISE YOU. Plus, N and Uzi aren’t V’s only friends 😭 just because their now shown with her 24/7 doesn’t mean she’s alone
Posting this because I think the fandom needs to see it 😭
The fandom has a major problem of making N stupid because of his bubbly and wholesome personality. But if you look right here, Liam literally says himself that N is not stupid, so please don’t write him as such.
Why is it that whenever someone tries to explain why Nuzi is a bad ship, or why it’s not healthy, etc. they place all the blame on Uzi?
It feels like majority of this fandom uses Uzi as a scapegoat and then only cares about N in the context of ships.
(And I know not everyone says/believes this, but it’s a large enough portion that I felt the need to rant about it)
N is not perfect and he’s also his own individual character. He’s a very complex and smart individual, and it’s honestly heartbreaking how this fandom dumbs him down so harshly
One thing that gets me so incredibly heated is the spreading of misinformation and mischaracterization and N, UZI, AND V are all mischaracterized so horribly it’s gotten to the point where I fear half of this fandom lacks basic literary comprehension.
Cabin fever is one of the best examples of this. From what I’ve seen, it is one of the most hated episodes and I low-key believe that is only because it’s so misunderstood (that or people think it’s a useless filler, which I can see, but I personally believe it was just as needed as the other episodes)
No, Uzi was not upset because she was ‘jealous’ N was hanging out with the other campers. She was upset because her classmates were more accepting of the ones who WERE CREATED LITERALLY JUST TO KILL THEIR KIND than her. Uzi is also not a ‘pick me.’ A pick me is someone who does too much in order to seek male validation. Uzi has never done anything to try and steal the spotlight or attract attention— all she’s done is shown affection for the one person in her life who showed her care. And no, her character was not ruined after the pilot. She was so harsh in the pilot because she was extremely emotionally damaged. The reason why she’s gotten softer is because she’s HEALING
No, V is not jealous and sad and miserable because of N and Uzi‘s relationship. She cares about both of them equally. Yes, it took her a minute to warm up to Uzi, but she did eventually. The only reason she was trying to kill Uzi/get rid of her in the first place was because of the absolute solver— it wasn’t because she was jealous that N was spending more time with Uzi than her. Gosh, I could ramble on and on about the complexity of V’s character— it’s upsetting how many people sideline her
And N, oh, N… this fandom has dumbed him down so much. Yall realize N had his suspicions about ‘Tessa’ since the very beginning, right? He knew something was off for such a long time but he had nothing to prove it/he probably didn’t want to believe it at first. But when he asked her “You knew about the patch, yes or no?” And she responded with “You know why I keep you around, N?” That confirmed everything for him IMMEDIATELY. And that’s just one of several examples showcasing N’s intelligence
I’m not very good with words, so this is probably jumbled and I definitely missed a lot of points, but I needed to share something before I exploded
Depending on the response, I’ll probably end up deleting this, because I’m a huge baby and can’t handle people people yelling at me if I’m wrong 😭
This fandom just loves to blame everything on Uzi, call her clingy, and say she’s the reason that Nuzi is ‘unhealthy’ when N literally fucking said “All I know is I need you.” With your bullshit logic, why aren’t you berating him too?
Their relationship goes both fucking ways. Stop ignoring N.
Uzi isn’t an ‘uwu girl,’ she’s a girl who’s healing. In the pilot, she had no one. Thad never spoke to her before the pilot. You can tell by Uzi being surprised he even knows her name. She wouldn’t be surprised by that if they were actually friends, would she? Her father neglected her and viewed her as a failure. She was bullied in school and treated as an outcast. She. Had. No one. She was hurting and she had no one. N came into her life and showed her what it was like to have someone and that it’s okay to lean on others for support. God fucking forbid she hug him after they survive scary and fucked up shit.
AND THATS NOT ALL! DONT FORGET ABOUT N! Since you guys just love to forget he’s apart of the equation soooo much.
In the pilot, N was abused and a doormat. He let J and V treat him like shit and he excused their abusive behavior towards him. He was hurting. Even if he was smiling and bubbly, he was hurting. Uzi came into his life and was a friend to him. She saved him when they barely even knew each other. She saw him as a person; she didn’t treat him like a doormat. It’s THANKS TO UZI that N learned to stand up for himself and not take shit from anyone anymore. He had no one too. Sure, J and V were there, and maybe V cared deep down, but she sure as hell didn’t show it. He’s scared. He was always scared— at least before he met Uzi. She gave him strength and made the scary stuff not so scary (literally said so himself).
It’s not that us nuzi fans ‘can’t handle anything negative being said about the ship.’ It’s all y’all’s takes being senseless and actual bullshit and we’re gonna call you out on it.
It’s okay if you don’t like Uzi. It’s okay if you don’t like Nuzi. But it’s childish as shit that you’re trying to invalidate the ship just because you don’t like it.
Nuzi isn’t perfect. No relationship is. But it’s not as bad as you dumbasses are making it out to be.
Someone pointed out the other day that V smiled here and NO ONE TALK TO MEEEE 😭😭💔
I ALWAYS THOUGHT SHE WAS SAD HERE— I NEVER NOTICED THE LITTLE SMILE OH MY GODDDD
She’s so ☹️☹️ I love V so much, and anyone who says she doesn’t care abt N and Uzi are WRONG.
I want to send so many good blessings to the person who pointed this out because my life is 10x better now that I know this.
I WILL NEVER SHUT UP ABOUT THIS BUT NO ONE RUINED ENVY / NxV.
I’m sure you all have seen at least one person in the fandom blame Uzi for ruining envy (which is bullshit) at some point, but I just saw someone BLAME N?? NOW YOURE JUST REAACCHHIINNNG.
NO ONE RUINED ENVY. THE RELATIONSHIP WAS NEVER RUINED.
It was never ruined, it just didn’t happen, and it’s no one‘s fault.
The only one who would be at fault — if you so desperately need to blame someone for their relationship not happening — is the solver.
Had N and V remained at Elliott Mannor, I am damn near positive they would’ve gotten together. However, the solver took that away and sent them to Copper 9.
On Copper 9/in the pilot episode, their relationship wasn’t going to go anywhere ever. It doesn’t matter if N had a crush on V and it doesn’t matter if V secretly cared about N deep down. Because of the situation and the environment they were stuck in, they were never going to experience character growth or development and they would never have gotten together.
Uzi entering their lives gave them a different environment and situation which helped them grow as characters. Helped them achieve growth they wouldn’t have obtained otherwise.
Did they end up together? No, they didn’t, but they did end up with a healthier relationship than they had at the start and a better understanding of each other. Not to mention, they grew individually.
If there’s anyone who ruined envy, it is the solver. I am so sick and tired of this fandom blaming N and Uzi for simply falling in love.
V did nothing wrong. N did nothing wrong. Uzi did nothing wrong.
I’m sorry your favorite ship didn’t end up together, that doesn’t give you the right to throw a tantrum and throw blame around for no reason. /lh
