Will took the violin out of its case and looked it over. He set it down for a moment as he ran the bow over rosin and took the violin once again. He shut the case and put the instrument up to his shoulder, running the bow over strings to test the sound.

they’ve known for awhile now-- that there was three of them. him, chris, and ashley. and, honestly? for josh, it took a second. the only time he liked sharing was with his sisters, but chris was his. they’d always known that. but now this new, really really pretty girl came in, who had apparently been the mystery writer, and chris went absolutely gaga over her.

josh did eventually get over it and actually started to like her. you’d think that knowing you’re soulmates would make it instant, but as it turns out, you still have to get to know a person. but they’ve been friends for years now. more than, actually-- and tonight it was a just him and ash night. which is why he was currently spread across her lap, pen in one hand stretched over the top of his head. he was thinking.
