&&. announcing her royal highness, ( okeyo mwezi ), the ( 30 ) year old ( crown prince ) of ( kenya ). he is often confused with ( kofi siriboe ). some say that he is ( devious & avaricious ), but he is actually ( extroverted & driven ).
okeyo grew up well loved by his family and country. he's met every single one of his parents expectations and excelled at creating a perfect image for himself. he is loyal to kenya and it’s important for him to prove his loyalty so he stayed in kenya throughout his childhood and teen years. academics came easy to him and he was a natural athlete. everyone had high hopes for the next in line. for university, he bounced around a lot, and then finally took up law at harvard with jelani, but for all the wrong reasons. looks good for a crown heir to study something so highly regarded at an ivy league school. they both took the piss out of reginald zulu also going to school for the same thing. the press had a field day.
he really stepped into his own when he sought out an opportunity for himself to expand the reach his family has within africa. it initially started off as a one off situation. the ugandan election was happening and he needed this win for kenya to have access to the resources in uganda. yes he could easily solidify and strengthen the relationship between the two countries through meetings and other deals, but it wouldn’t give him the control he wants. there would be negotiating, a back and forth. it would take ages for him to accomplish anything. he wanted to eliminate that process in order to create faster results. he wanted a shortcut.
a guarantee win is an easy temptation for a politician who's not confident they'll beat their opponents. although it took a lot of persuading, okeyo was able to sway the soon-to-be president on his side. he knew if he threw in enough money and made enough empty promises, he could easily have uganda under mwezi control. the president semi-unknowingly sold himself away. it’s not like he was completely unaware of the risks. winning an election was just too good to pass up.
greed is a common trait in his family. it inevitably intensified after gaining unlimited access to uganda after the win. and so the one off situation sprouted into something much more. the first election did not satiate his greed. this was a start to create a network for himself by having endless amount of politicians at his disposal. it was only a step toward the winning direction. the mwezi’s could have control in africa and make the zulu’s appear pathetic in comparison.
the unwavering faith and truth his family and his staff have to his methods is enough for him to not think about the consequences or resort to a plan b. lingering on consequences is inefficient and a hindrance to the bigger picture.
now present time! he joined the program because he’s been assigned to help assist taking over south africa as well as trying to win over the president of the drc ( he’ll leave it up to asali though ). he would rather do other shit, but this is important to the senior citizens in his family :/
very performative, surface level, superficial.
family is very important to him. the only people he will ever trust, the only people he'll remain loyal to. he takes immense pride in being a mwezi.
very social and won’t be outright rude or mean to you unless if you give him a reason to. he’ll instead perceive you and talk shit later with his cousins.
his rep is important to him. most decisions are based on whether it’ll make him and his family look better and how they can be a step above the zulu’s. and not all of those decisions are safe or well received. a very big risk taker. he thrives on the adrenaline. big risks equal big rewards or whatever they say!
hardly ever gets angry, he has had it too easy so far.
