A Much Needed Break
An overworked writer and their worried boyfriend-slash-vigilante. What happens when the vigilante decides to take it upon himself to stop his partner from working themselves out?
words [ 717 ]
contains: spoilers for V's story/route
(I missed my man dearly okay)
For weeks now you've been working on a new novel, yet again starring your beloved vigilante as the protagonist. You were so lucky to find a lover and a muse in one man, one very righteous man.
Your hard work wasn't fruitless, you've had half of the plot figured out and you were halfway through the second chapter with your first draft. You were satisfied with the speed you got to work on your writing.
But out of you and you boyfriend, you were the only satisfied one.
Valentin was growing more worried with each passing day. You've been working from dawn to dusk, barely leaving your laptop, the sound of your fast typing were heard in whichever room you sat.
Normally he wouldn't be one to go against hard work, hell, he could appreciate the amount effort you've been putting into your work, but you were slowly crossing the line of hard work and simply overworking yourself.
You've been staying up longer and longer, going to sleep long after V fell asleep himself or when he returned from his vigilante antics. You also woke up early and got straight to writing. V had to serve food and water right in front of you.
Normally V would try to go slowly and logically about helping you to readjust your work schedule to keep it healthy and balance. But he couldn't just sit and figure it out slowly while the eyebags under your eyes were getting worse and you were just so focused on writing.
He decided to pick a more brutal way on breaking your unhealthy working routine.
"V?! Have you seen my laptop? I can't find it anywhere." You ran into the kitchen, your expression one of anxiety.
It almost made the man feel guilty for what he did, but seeing you so chained to your writing hurt him even more. "Ah, your laptop yes. I confiscated it for the time being."
"What?! Why?" You asked, frustration present in your voice.
"You've been working too hard my love. Your posture has worsened, you barely eat or drink, you haven't left the house in a while, nor have you slept well in weeks. Since there's no deadline on your current novel I decided that having a break is the best course of action for your wellbeing."
You opened and closed your mouth repeatedly. You wanted to say something, disagree, tell him that you're perfectly fine and he was too paranoid.
But you knew that he was right.
The aching of your back was proof enough for you. You seriously needed at least a day of a breather.
"... Alright, I can take a break I guess." You mumbled and sat at the dining table, staring down at the plate in front of you.
Valentin smiled proudly, feeling proud of his success even if it was meaningless to the rest of society or the world. To him having you take a break was the best achievement of his life, maybe besides finding the murderer of his mother.
"Thank you for your cooperation." V said, picking up his cup of coffee. "Now, eat the breakfast I made for you, we will be going out today."
"Oh? Where are we going?" You asked curiously.
"Misaki sent me a few crotched patterns for animal clothes and I need to buy appropriate yarns and with your schedule cleared out you may accompany me."
"You're giving crocheting a try again?"
"Yes, I made up my mind." He nodded. "I also thought that maybe," he paused, his cheeks turning red, "you'd like to give it a try with me."
You smiled brightly at his shy suggestion. "I'm on a writing break, aren't I? I can use the time to crochet with you and make cute clothes for the animals."
V smiled softly, kissing your forehead. "I'm glad to hear that. We can create a schedule in the evening, we will divide your writing time and our crochet time so you can still get some work done and take much needed breaks."
"That sounds perfect. I have no idea what I'd be doing now if I didn't have you."
"You'd still work as a journalist, if the serial killers wouldn't kill you that is."
"That's why I'm glad to be the one to steal your heart."
it's so funny to use ronin stuff to a v fanfic shhshdf
anywayyy i hope that you guys enjoyed it ^^

Reap What You Sow - V × Grimmy (Casper)
First Steps Into Parenthood
Dating, even if the person who won your heart is The Vigilante himself, shouldn't be hard, right? Well, maybe for most people it isn't. But for you, a single parent raising a little girl who's all too curious about the new friends you've made on the weird looking chatting site, made the situation much harder than you thought. Fortunately for you, your beloved vigilante is not only righteous, but also good with kids and came up with a solution. "Let's arrange a meeting with your daughter, it's only fair that she knows me as her parent's friend first. I wouldn't want to barge into her life so suddenly. Doing that would be cruel and distasteful."

(A/N: the mc's gender is up to the reader in all my works including this one so i hope that no one will feel left out because of the reader being a single parent </3 since as we all know men, women, nonbinary and other gender identifying folk can be a single parent!)
"Baba! Baba! Wake up!" A little girl was sitting by your side on your bed, shaking your sleeping body excitedly.
"Yes, yes, baba is up." You mumbled, slowly sitting up and looking down at the child by your side. "Callie, sweetie, why are you awake so early?" It was a valid question considering the fact that your daughter went to sleep very late. The excitement after hearing that her new favourite kind-of-weird-but-still-nice adult was about to pay you a visit today.
The adult in question was Valentin, the man who stole your heart and whom you were kind of dating. It wasn't official solely because he insisted on meeting your daughter first. He already saw her when she barged into your room during face time with him. His reaction when he saw the little girl climb onto your lap simply wave at him and then turn to you to talk about how annoying some character in her favourite cartoon is was very funny, especially knowing that he was threatening to find every single piece of information he could about you.
You had to come clean about being a single parent right then and there, surprisingly for someone from a rich background he wasn't very judgemental towards you. In fact, he said words that might've been what stolen your heart.
"Raising a child alone is very admirable. She looked healthy which means that you are a capable person too, maybe you aren't the beast I took you for."
From that day on, your daughter so happened to be very close to your laptop every time you talked to V, luckily during night time you had some safe time to talk with the man freely. For someone who at first seemed to be cold and distant, he was very kind towards your daughter. He showed her his cats and talked about rescuing animals, he did paint it to be legal and non-murdery. He also said that he helps in charity, he ignited inspiration in Callie's heart and so every now and then you two would help at charity events.
"How can I sleep when mister Valentin is coming over today?" She shouted excitedly and started pulling you by your arm. "Come on! Come on! Get up!"
With no other choice, you followed her to the kitchen and made some pancakes for breakfast with hot chocolate as the drinks - when you're a parent you just eat and drink whatever you make for your child after they are old enough to eat actual food.
"Here you go Miss Callie, a small stack of our high quality pancakes with jam, accompanied by our freshly made hot choco." You said as if you were a waiter in a five star restaurant or a butler working for a royal family. Callie is like a princess to you so it wasn't far from the truth.
"Yum!" She exclaimed, her princessy act slipping. "I mean! Ahem! Thank you mx baba, I'm sure our super cool cook made the breakfast extra tasty today."
"I sure hope they did." You chuckled and sat on the other side of the table, you brushed a strand of hair from Callie's forehead and started eating.
You had a lot of to prepare for the vigilante's visit so you had to be quick.
The time for V's arrival came and you stood by the door with a very excited Callie who dressed herself up in her favourite dress reserved for special occasions only. Seeing how V has already won Callie over you could picture her reaction to the we-love-each-other-and-want-to-be-together conversation.
The door bell rang and before you could move Callie has already opened a door and basically threw herself at V who, luckily, had a great reflex and caught the little girl, picking her up with a warm smile on his face.
"Good evening miss Callie." He greeted her as if she was some important figure and put her down. That could've been possibly caused by your conversation earlier about how Callie loves to be treated like a princess.
"Hi!" She said, smiling brightly from ear to ear. Oh, how you wished to have a picture of V holding Callie in his arms... You will definitely have one soon, you couldn't possibly lose on the cutest lock screen wallpaper in the world.
"Good evening V." You joined in the greetings, standing next to Callie. "Would you mind coming in? My neighbours tend to be nosy."
"Yeah! Especially Miss Gray! She's totally spying on baba all the ti-!"
"Callie, my sweet princess, if you want to gossip about our dear neighbours then please do so when we're inside." You stopped her before she said too much.
V chuckled and nodded. "I wouldn't mind, I'd rather avoid being spied on by Miss Gray."
The three of you stepped back inside, Callie ran to the living room, you closed the door behind V and noticed the bag he was holding.
"What's that?"
"Oh, this?" He asked, holding up the bag with a company logo you never saw before. "I thought that I'd buy us a cake, Callie said that she always wanted to try a peach cheesecake so how could I possibly not buy one for her." As if you weren't already head over heels for that man, his response made you melt.
How could someone be so sweet?
"That's so nice of you, I'm sure she's going to love it."
You guided V to the living room. It was cleaned and set up for the very special visitor. You had to dig through your closet to dig out your porcelain tea set so you had actual cups instead of the usual mugs.
"Mister V sit next to me!" Callie said excitedly, patting the spot next to her on the couch.
V looked at you, visibly asking for your permission which you granted him with a warm smile and a gentle nod. He sat down next to your daughter and you felt happiness washing over you. You couldn't remember the last time Callie was this excited and seeing V, someone who stole your heart, get along with your daughter was just a dream come true.
You could already imagine the warm family you could have with him.
Callie has my heart!!!!
