Okay so "Flat Eric" is the goats name, he's a muppet sort of character who got its fame in the late 90s. (Disclaimer, I was not born in the 90s though so I just found him through memes before growing find of him. 😭) Anyway, he came from LEVI’s commercials, specifically for their STA-PREST denim debut. Pants. Yes, a muppet was the mascot for some denim pants.

He had a human sidekick called Angel, where they drove around Cali listening to "Flat Beat" by Mr. Ozio. I think the song became a huge hit in UK at one point too during the fame of Flat Eric. While it’s not my particular fav, despite being a rather I consume all genres music listener, if you’re an EDM fan (or just curious) it’s worth checking out.

After LEVI’s, Flat Eric continued his career through cameos in Mr. Ozio music videos and even appeared in The Office once! It became a sort of trend to take photographs of Flat Eric (given plushies of him were available) to pose around the world.

Safe to say, Flat Eric made it out of Cali and got to adventure around the globe! 😎🤘

He is kinda scary looking sometimes tho ngl 😭 I actually avoid using some pics bc I don’t want to scare some or unsettle some people. I do apologize to anyone who may have Pupaphobia/automatonophobia (or could it be like Muppetphobia specifically, I’m unsure) bc I do use him with my asks.

I meant to reply to these sooner rather than later but time and responsibilities kept me at bay, unfortunately.

Not so unfortunately (maybe), I’m here now!

Anyway, I want to take a moment before getting back to business to thank you guys because the support I’ve been sent has honestly been crazy. It’s genuinely overwhelming (in a good way, don’t worry) to be part of such a warm community. Especially when you’ve guys taken the time out of your day to drop these messages by. <3

They really do mean a lot and I look back on them very fondly. Your guys overall support reassures me that my writing is still something worth continuing/working on. Not just for Dispatch but in general.

Whether you’re a reoccurring reader from Tumblr, Ao3, or you just recently stumbled upon my cave of crazy yaps—it all warms my heart. Especially when I’m super stressed or anxious about nonsense.

what’s your updating schedule like! i don’t know if you’ve posted about it before, but is it like every other day type of thing?

Hello! [Finally have some time to answer my inbox]

It's sort of like… every other day (used to be every day bc of willpower). If it's like a really long chapter or longer than usual at most it's... 3-4 days(?)… Tbh the longest I've probably been was the last chapter where I did take maybe three days. I try not to push it to over 5 days because that's when I usually get unmotivated to write, lul. Hence why I also sometimes do a blurb on the sidelines, both as repayment for being late + just to unwind.

The not-so-serious answer: Flat Eric and music gives me the power to transcend time just so I can write Robert Robertson III fanfic.

[Given I did kinda ramble I did the Read More/Keep Reading cause I don't want anyone to be forced to scroll through it if they're uninterested. The serious answer is below though! <3]

The serious answer: Anxiety, lol. What-ifs. Blah blah. All that. Nothing too plaguing when it comes to writing actually, despite my anxiety being quite bad, I just am that way with my personal projects. I also type pretty fast on my computer—thank you young-me for finding my speedster mother typing at her office desk super cool and therefore training yourself to replicate it (fist-bump), so that obviously cuts down time. On top of that, my schedule is actually quite flexible, working remote does help even as a full-time college student. And the latter makes fanfiction a relief for me, especially after some hard classes/assignments/that nonsense. Nothing is more fueling than wanting to do something—anything, really—if it means procrastinating on responsibilities. (I do make sure all my work is turned in on time, don't worry, I'm not slacking on my education.) Additionally, given the way I used to abandon projects in the past because I got tired of them due to procrastination, I’ve learned actively working on the following chapter while doing the current chapter (ex. working on ch.4 while in ch.3) also helps. I think chapter 3 was nearly done by the time I finished chapter 2 properly too bc of the way I planned. Or just winged it... I barely plan. Sometimes. It works out... Maybe I subconsciously do storyboarding like in the past? Idk. (Another example of working on two things at the same time is how I worked on "Save Me, Mecha Man" while I also doing Ch.3 of What If.)

I also have the insomnia...

On one last serious note, writing whatever you want will always make you write faster. Because if you're doing something you love or enjoy rather than forcing yourself to that means time flies beautifully faster, right? At least that's what I think.
