@geniusbillionnaire from our talk!
It had been a slow month, which Steve supposed he should be grateful for. Fewer burglaries, fewer speeders, all around what he should probably ascribe to a good month for the community. But boring, oh so boring when he had been in his patrol car for hours, closer and closer to sleep with every slowing car that past him. When there was finally a commotion he nearly upturned his coffee in his excitement as he finally caught sight of the car attached to the engine he'd heard purring all the way daown the road.
And sure enough, that was way too fast - He didn't hesitate to throw on his lights and with a smile peeled out after the ostentatious vehicle. Any other day Steve might have been embarrassed with how thrilled he was to finally have something to do, but there was always something satisfying about shutting down a noisy driver with no sense of responsibility.
Perhaps an unfair assessment for somebody he hadn't yet met, though Steve would have his opportunity soon enough. After the brief initial chase they were pulled to the side of the highway and he was approaching, still sporting sunglasses and a small grin.
"Sir," Steve offered as he leaned over towards the driver's window and caught the briefest sign of a goatee. "Would you like to tell me just how fast it is you think you might have been going out there?"
