the thief {eric/shelly}
i-am-the-crow:
Eric arrived to the loft as quick as possible, only for the sake of coming back to Shelly. He understood all that she felt, and hated for her to be by herself. Most days, he didn’t even leave, but occasionally he had to go check up on Sarah.
He knelt in front of where she sat curled up, gently tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. A smile formed on his face, and he stood up to kiss her forehead. “I don’t need the words. All I need is you.”
Her smile grew, almost to what might have been a genuine, proper smile before as her head tilted into his touch, to the brush of his fingers and the warmth of his lips against her skin. There were days, still, when he seemed to be the only thing that was real in this world of shadows and ghosts.
"Then we want for nothing," she spoke, though it seemed a sad mockery of the truth. They lived, but did they truly? They were together. That much was true. She strove to believe that it was enough. "How is Sarah?" A light, in the darkness. "And Darla?" Shelly knew of what Eric had done for Darla, in those first days of his own return. How, exactly, was unclear, but she had her own ideas. They were now, more than ever, of one soul.
